Awakening in Hadriel is perhaps not the most wonderful thing, but as you pry yourself off the hard ground of the colosseum, you may notice that the Door (or possibly one of the gods?) has seen fit to provide you with a little entertainment. Scattered across the ground are a number of handheld video games. Thesecheap pieces of shitlovingly crafted products can each provide you with whole minutes of entertainment, at least until you get frustrated and smash them to pieces. Have fun!
But not too much fun. If you get too involved in that game, you might miss the approach of some glowing little creatures - guardian fireflies, from the movie Atlantis. Should they land on anything flammable - and yes, that includes you and your hair - it'll burst into flames. Smash them, and they'll explode in a tiny ball of flame, too. There'll be a couple hundred of these things flying around Hadriel, so let's hope you left your stash of gunpowder at home. With the window closed.
Once you've stopped dropped and rolled, feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers May 10th-16th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
2. not late not late not late
This also takes time, as Rey is only one entity, and there is only so much that even her vessel can take. Too much exertion and she could overcharge...
Which is almost what happens when her left hand suddenly bursts into flame.
Whether EDI is attempting to find cover from the chaos or offer assistance or what have you, she'll find one particular woman. A woman who is currently grumbling with all the annoyance of tending to a papercut and not, you know, having her hand on freaking fire.
"Dammit," she mutters, flinging her wrist in a futile endeavor to wring out what should be a serious injury.
NOPE NOT LATE I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT
She does, at least, make her approach somewhat cautious. There's no telling what anyone will do; she doesn't have the information to even begin to speculate.
"Are you in need of assistance?"
NOPE NOPE NOPE
There we go.
Despite her hand having been on fire, there's no symptoms of any burns whatsoever. The only evidence are her clothes, which appear to be only a little scorched from her efforts.
Afterwards, she glances over to the woman, who is... definitely not human in appearance. And it doesn't take Rey long to figure out-- "Oh, you're that other synth Nick mentioned."
Yes, EDI. People were talking about you behind your back.
ALL I SAW WAS AN ON TIME TAG
Only slightly less surprising was the mention that she'd been spoken of.
"If he mentioned a synthetic who recently arrived, then yes. We did speak at some length."
THANKS, PAL
She blinks at the synthetic woman, as she recalls the conversation she just had with Nick. It wasn't like he'd contacted her to warn her about the synth or anything. Considering how she had treated him upon their first encounter (which wasn't very nice at all), however, the heads up makes a little more sense.
"Am assuming then that someone at least gave you the rundown on this place." She doubts that Nick would've left someone like her without some details.
NO PROBLEM, BRO
"Yes. For the most part." There are still unanswered questions, but she doubts they will ever be addressed. "Unless there is more specific information, I believe I understand the general situation."
no subject
As Rey says this, more another one comes hovering towards her face like it has a purpose. Knowing better this time, she ducks her head, evading the burning insect by a hair's breadth before it could explode into a fiery burst of awful.
no subject
"I suggest you retire to safety."
no subject
She waves a dismissive hand at EDI's comment.
"No worries. Won't be hurt by them. Am probably one of the few who can't be."
Which means she's more useful out here than in 'safety'.
no subject
"Very well. Please let me know should you require any assistance."
