Event Log: Loud Valley

What: The event log for the Loud Valley event!
Where: All around the city
When: August 23rd-August 30th
Warnings: Cute animals, lots of candy, and swanky beats to cheer up with

In the early morning of August 23rd, a siren will sound. No need to worry, this isn't your usual siren- instead of the ear-piercing sounds of the Silent Hill event (thanks, Sharon), the music that plays over the city is a short, happy tune.

Is that a rainbow above the buildings? Why is everything so lush with grass? You wanted water and now candy has popped out of the faucet instead- that's bound to get annoying after awhile. Welcome to the Loud Valley event, which plays nice, happy music, showers you all in flowers, stuffed animals, cake, and smiling emojis, and gives you your very own monster er, companion to play with!

Each character will be getting a companion for the duration of the event, something which, like in Silent Hill, is a reflection of them- but rather than reflecting their fears and flaws, this companion reflects their positive qualities and happiness. The animals will appear to characters when the sirens sound and will be more than happy to just chill out with them, whether by getting some nice pets and cuddles, following them around, or meowing/roaring/barking/hissing/etc at them for some much-needed attention.

( She'd noticed the bird early on, finding it closer than any bird might normally been in this place. Her own birds know her but this isn't one of Leliana's, its feathers too brightly coloured with reds and purples. No, this is something from this place, though what?

As it seems intent on following her Leliana regards it warily, waiting to see what it would do before she acts - if it's just a bird or not. Though when she finds Cecily it seems that she also has an animal problem )

I don't recall hearing the music before, either.

( Which is also a no to her question )

They're rubbing it in our faces that we're in the shitter down here, and -

[ Cecily freezes like a wild animal, shoulders tensed, brows twitching. Leliana had seen the animal, apparently, but the Inquisitor hadn't yet seen the creature shadowing her.

Until now, when she turns quickly and meets the gaze of a strange, reddish thing. ]

... Have we got a menagerie now, too? [ Comes the dry question as she looks between the maned wolf and Leliana's colorful bird. ]

[bheidh]

We may do.

( And, if they accumulate any more, it might become annoying. She doesn't like being followed )

I didn't see where it came from, though it's become attached.

( WHY. Unless she can use it. Would you please be a nice messenger bird?? )

You aren't the only one. [ Cecily peers warily at the creature. It doesn't seem as if it's about to spring to attack; rather, the wolf pads toward her, head ducked, sniffing. ]

I would guess they're another assortment of the regular monsters, but the timing's off. [ They'd arrived with the rainbow and music, apparently. ] Do you think they're dangerous?

[ They don't seem to be, but that's no indication of their motives. ]

Anything could be.

( It's easier to assume yes and not be caught off guard if it turns out to be a danger. It also gives you an opportunity to learn more than you otherwise may )

Has anything been so attached before?

[closerift]

Fair. [ Most things are, in Hadriel. ] And, no, nothing has ever been so... pet-like.

[ The wolf nudges her hand with his head and she delicately raises it out of his reach. ]

[bheidh]

Then we have little to go on.

( It could easily be something benign - pets, or something temporary, but it would be the first thing that Leliana has heard of like it here. She also is starting to trust Cecily's word, especially about what has happened here - she's likely to be right that this is the first occurrence )

I would like to be wrong.

( For once )

That's usually the way of it, here.

[ The 'animals' may not be attacking now, but they could be waiting to catch the residents off guard, or waiting for a signal. ]

I don't think I've ever heard you say those words. [ She notes with a sly smile. ]

There are few times when I feel it may be possible.

( She often believes the worst in people or a situation, and usually Leliana is right in those judgements. Particularly in the situations that she's been in lately )

[ After almost a year in Hadriel, she's more than learned that lesson. ]

After everything following the Conclave, through stopping Corypheus, I thought nothing could surprise me anymore.

[ She scoffs, eyes raising 'skyward.' ]
