On January 24th, Hope puts the call out for a little help with this monster problem he's been having. In exchange for some prizes, he'd like you to go into the caves and kill him a few monsters! He'll be keeping an eye out and rewarding you for each kill, so grab a friend and a sword and get to work. Just try not to get lost in the caves - they're pretty extensive, and no one seems to have a decent maps. Also, you know. They're full of slavering hellbeasts.
Or if you'd like to sit out the fighting and collaborate on a way to relieve some of Hope's burden in some other way, you can do that too. He'd appreciate the help. Lastly, feel completely free to do absolutely nothing. You won't get a consolation prize, but you sure will avoid getting eaten by monsters!
If your character will be killing some of the monsters, please comment here and let us know how many they've taken out. For reference, here is a list of the amount of each monster that can be found in the caves:

the communication devices, for one. actually that's probably the one thing he has the most trouble with, even after all that practice he got with typing while he was buried alive.
the people calling themselves gods he's... sort of still undecided about. they've done things he's not happy about, sure, but he doesn't know anything about them yet and he can't be sure if there's a way to get them to stop using and hurting people on their own.
this whole being underground but not buried alive thing is a little rough too, but mostly just because he's never been stuck in one place for so without being able to leave and he's maybe getting a little antsy about the whole thing.
zelos being gone. that one probably bothers him most of all. because he can't quite manage to convince himself that it's not his fault.
what doesn't confuse him at all though is the concept of fighting monsters and, honestly, at this point it sounds like the best sort of distraction from everything else. finally, something constructive and helpful that he can do that doesn't leave him wondering if it's the right thing to be doing at all. because even if hope is the one that asked for the monsters to be killed, it's something that will keep everyone safe and lloyd can't see a single thing wrong with that.
he's out in the caves almost immediately after the call goes out, making sure to leave noishe behind at the house (aside from noishe's fear of monsters, there was always a risk someone might mistake him for a monster, as ridiculous as the notion might seem to lloyd, after all) and packing only the most bare essentials in the bag slung over his back (a few gels, a snack, a cleaning rag for his swords).
it feels almost like old times, honestly. aside from the fact that he's alone this time.]

She's ditched her rowan crown for now, but the iron link remains safely tucked away in her pocket. While fae aren't exactly the same as monsters, and monsters were what was mentioned by that Hope guy in his message, Chie has seen enough to know that she can never be too careful.
She spies Lloyd entering one of the caves and sprints after him.]
Yoo! Lloyd! Wait up.

yet being the operative word, of course.] Hey Chie! I guess you saw Hope's thing about the monsters, huh?
[he's been slacking, honestly. he should have been out in these caves before today dealing with the threat he knew was present in them, but so much had happened recently that is had been sort of hard to find the time or energy.]
no subject
Uh-huh! Sounded like a good way to spend some time, don'tcha think?
[She's missed the structure of her Watch shifts.]
Besides, we gotta do what we can to protect people here, right?

he looks at it sometimes, when he's feeling lost, when he's trying to figure out what to do. looking at zelos' orb has kind of taken up job for him more recently, because while he's not confused about himself anymore (not really) zelos has somehow managed to become an even bigger concern than before.
he's not finding any answers in either right now, but maybe he'll have more luck with chie out in the cave.] Not everyone here can fight, so it's important to do what we can.
no subject
[That's just sort of a given, in Chie's mind.]
So ... where do you think we should start?
no subject
The monsters are probably a little deeper in the caves, but it's really easy to get lost in them so we should probably be careful at any forks in the path, maybe stick to only taking lefts for now and leave something at the first turn so we know if we've gone around in a loop.

D'you suppose the caves can change on us? The forest in Demelier was supposedly like that, but I never saw it personally.
[That would definitely complicate things.]

[he sighs, frowns, and rubs the side of his neck.] I wish I could bring Noishe in with us because he could lead us back out pretty easily, but if we're going in there looking for monsters it's probably not a good idea. He's kind of a wuss about monsters.
[lloyd sounds pretty fond regardless when he says it though.]
