On the morning of the 25th, everything in Hadriel gets just a little nicer. Or maybe that's your outlook - after all, loving yourself makes it a lot easier to love everything else. That's right, Love is here, and it's time to get your self-acceptance on. From the moment of Love's revival, all the inhabitants of the city will feel a sense of acceptance, appreciation, and love for themselves and for the people around them. They'll be more inclined to give themselves a break, more inspired to show their affection for their loved ones, and more likely to forgive enemies - or at least ignore them, rather than start fights. Overall, the air in the city is full of love! It's up to you whether this affects your character strongly or not at all, but it won't force them to do anything extremely out of character - it will only gently push them toward expressions of love, both platonic and romantic.
Along with this warm, pleasant feeling of love comes the hot springs you all voted for. It appears near the lake, not far from Love's temple, walled-in but with no roof except for the (separate) changing areas. Within you can find a few different pools of differing temperatures, all the better to soak all your worries away!
In addition, all throughout the city you'll find new items in the shops for a short time. Anything that might help express your love for yourself and for others - fluffy blankets, stuffed animals, snuggies, exotic-smelling candles, and some nice bubble bath and skin care products will be left on display - everything in a nice shade of light pink, of course. The buildings will be draped in pink streamers, and you'll also be able to find a variety of delicious sweets - stuff yourself or feed them to your significant other, or maybe leave them on the doorstep of the person who you wish was your significant other.
Enjoy all this love filling the cave, and give yourself a break! You're gonna need it.► This log covers March 25th-March 28th.

"That is what I keep saying," the Inquisitor sighs. "The things lying around this city are more often dangerous than not."
Whether in the shops or the Coliseum. She still hasn't forgotten the tainted meat that transformed her into a monster, and imagines Rey, who had seen, doesn't, either.
no subject
Like she said: Better Rage than Love -- and better Rage than Fear.
"Wouldn't necessarily go that far, but some are less reliable than others."
Sorrow's orchard, for instance, seems rather reliable in Rey's humble (Sorrow-biased) opinion.
no subject
It's easy to build doubt and suspicion in this place, she thinks, but it's hardly Rey's fault.
"Were you looking for anything in particular, or just looking?"
no subject
She'd much rather to deal with cynics than one of those tripping over their shits for Love's return. A god that Rey would rather not have to deal with at all.
"Just finding Love's junk to break. Doesn't do much good for anyone, but it's cathartic."
no subject
She's never been one for spouting inspirational speeches, anyhow. ... Unless pressed. Then, she can usually manage.
"You aren't the only one, then," Cecily replies, chuckling. "Though some people do seem to be taking things to enjoy later, some of the others are just smashing their way through the piles. I may have done a little of both."
no subject
Nick, for instance, is a pretty hopeful guy who tries to see the best in Rey. Most of the time, she doesn't understand any of it, but maybe it's because she sees a similar quality in him that he fails to acknowledge, himself.
She scoffs. "Good to know. Knew there was a reason why that fucker came dead-last in not being dead."
no subject
Josephine, as an example, is a bright and shining star that none of them seem to deserve.
"An Love's an ally of Fear's, to make matters... worse." Because Fear is their enemy, isn't he? And so Love... has to be someone to be wary of, at the very least.
no subject
Likewise to Cecily, Rey thinks of her own brother. His upbringing allowed him to have a much more positive outlook on life. To be more hopeful of a prospective future, if only because he has a future.
Rey, as she has always believed, does not. And she's accepted this cold reality for what it is.
She scoffs. "Is anyone surprised? Of course that thing's on Fear's nice list. Figured that'd be the case before Hope brought it back."
It just isn't an unsurprising fact that Rey is all too happy to be correct on.
Well, she is and she isn't...
no subject
It's a monstrosity, in her opinion, and the hot springs are-... well, nice, but a luxury. Not a necessity.
"Time will tell what we can expect from it," she mutters, clicking her tongue.
no subject
"Not exactly thrilled about sitting and waiting to see what happens." Her brow creases, an irritable look plastered onto her face becoming darker, more grim. "The problem with this one is that it'll get power no matter what we do. That's the worst part about these 'positive' gods."
And it's not like Rey shutting off her emotions again will end well.
no subject
"Whether it's sooner or later, we'll all figure this out," she states firmly. "I'm not usually one for mindless optimism, but there are enough of us on the same side here to be... cautiously hopeful."
Another familiar feeling.
no subject
For some reason. She disliked all of the gods by principal at first, but she's started to realize that all the resentment towards Hope seemed a little misplaced.
no subject
Delight is the only other one that she'd considered have doing her a favor, as she's since forgotten that Sorrow actually provided her with seeds for elfroot. Whoops.
no subject
"They all have their uses... with the exception of Love, who seems to come with less benefits than any of the others. Hot springs don't exactly scream helpful." She scoffs despite herself. "Probably wouldn't have made use of anything that Love makes, though."
Much as she hates the idea of the hot springs, Rey would have no doubt avoided their café out of spite so long as they had anything to do with it.
no subject
Not exactly the place for relaxation, however much they may need it. Besides, they have the bar for that. ... Er, 'had.'
"Best to keep your guard up with all of them, really."
no subject
Then what does it matter to Rey whether their contribution is something as equally unnecessary as they are to this cave?
Rey shrugs. "Don't know. Sorrow seems all right. At least he's willing to give us a fighting chance instead of just using us as glorified feeding troughs."
no subject
Love, the god, is kind of terrifying. ... It's also terrifying in concept.
"He did give me something to plant in the orchard, though what I had to do in return was... melodramatic," Cecily sighs.
no subject
But love was a troublesome presence for Rey since day one, long before the god of it ever showed up in an off-world reality where such entities exist. The more people realize how dangerous it can be, the better.
"Can't say am eager to know what he had you do. What did you plant, though?"
She knows Danse has his own seeds that he wanted to grow. It'd be good to know which plants came from where, since Rey frequents the orchards.
no subject
Lucky for healers, the plant is fairly common in their world, assuming you don't live in the desert or in snow.
"I thought it might come in handy here, especially given the turnaround in the clinic."
no subject
"Interesting. You'll have to demonstrate how that works sometime. Don't work at the clinic, but knowing that stuff is always useful."
You never know when you might get a papercut or lose a limb.
no subject
In theory. She's been able to use it in Hadriel, at least.
"I don't think it can help much to heal your relationship with Love," she adds, cracking a grin.
no subject
Or do. It'll only serve to make Rey more frustrated, and angry is better than the alternative.
"Can't heal something that was never really there to begin with." Ever since she heard of the god's existence, Rey had been adverse to the return of anything calling themselves 'Love'. Far as she is concerned, that isn't changing anytime soon.
no subject
Or not. But, then, who really wants to be close to Love?
"Well, I'll make sure to be careful if I'm ever in contact with that thing," Cecily says, making as if to head out again. "And I hope you'll be careful, too."
no subject
Hope himself will be sorely lacking in that department, anyway.
"No worries. Have no intention of trying to make nice with it, let alone engage." Because Love is gross and full of cooties.
