Event Log: Party Royale

What: The event log for the Party Royale event
Where: All over the city!
When: September 22nd-29th
Warnings: Paintball, loss of consciousness, and partying!

As is par for the course in Hadriel, at some point throughout the day- waking up, making breakfast, doing laundry- you find an item. This isn't just any item though, it's a tried and true paintball gun, shining and just waiting to be picked up. This gun never runs out of ammunition, never malfunctions, and almost always hits the target that you're aiming at, so say hello to your new best friend for the next week.

Touching or picking up the gun will fill you with a competitive surge, which will likely increase when you find the note that's left with it, saying nothing more than be the last one standing. With instructions like that, how could you lose?

Well, you could lose if someone else shoots you. But never fear, there's a plan for that too! Even if you embrace the throes of unconsciousness, the gods have got your back and will eventually teleport you into a grand party where prizes will be handed out based on how long you survived. Awesome! At this party is also the traditional copious amounts of food and drink, as well as everyone's favorite goddess Delight and everyone's slightly-less-favorite goddess Rage!

[Taako swings into step with Lup, obviously overconfident.]

Nah, nah, Ango's got a point. We can help him out with his magic issues, can't we babe? He's still learning.

[He grins back towards Angus' direction, looking a little smug.]

Just a baby. Tiny baby magic boy.

I don't think it does.

[He offers, honest. But then, after a moment of thought, he frowns.]

I don't have anything to compare it to.

It's an odd feeling, behind handled so easily. Maketh sits up, grinning, and plants a kiss on Rey's cheek. "How literal. I like it."

It's quite romantic.

[circumitus]

By even her own crazy world's standards, Rey should be surprised.

Having been in Hadriel for as long as she has, this is par for the course.

Rey gives him space while he shows off, canting her head to the side as she thinks. Hmmm.

"How long can you keep doing that? And do you know where the bar is?"

Two very important questions for the night.

[circumitus]

Stronger. Maybe. [Shrug.] Pretty sure most of them do it because they think it looks cool.

[Because that's just the sort of dumbass thing most adolescents would do when cybernetics are introduced to the world.]

That seems to be a common problem with any faith. Once you get the self-righteous pricks who think they're right, they act like they get a pass to do whatever they want because their asshole gods will "forgive" them.

[circumitus]

Funny. Rey never thought of herself as much of a romantic. But seeing Maketh smile, feeling her kiss, it makes that strange piece that is her heart skip a few beats. And there's a little romantic in there after all.

She stands up, lifting Maketh with her, still in her arms.

"You want to go somewhere a little more private? I can bring drinks."

It's nothing forward. Rey just wants to ditch the party scene for a while, and Maketh -- well, makes her happy.

I've heard of strange things done for fashion, but that has to be the strangest.

[the young can be incredibly foolish and short-sighted]

It's even worse when they're simply fanatics. No goals other than to bring down anyone who doesn't fit within their narrow view of what the true faith is.

[ghostlocked]

[He snorts, not sure what's so funny. Is she making fun of him? It feels like she's making fun of him. Whatever. Heckin' evocation wizards think they're the end all be all. This is nothing new.]

Yep. Illusions. I'm in charge of crowd control for my team.

[Which is very important? Anyway.]

You met my friend Kyna? She's an evocation wizard, too.

[mismanagement]

"Oh?" Maketh quips a smile, watching Rey. Her expression is fond and oddly soft. "I'd like that. Yes."

[ghostlocked]

[WOW. Harlan laughs.]

Holy shit, Del. That's cold. Didn't know you had it in you.

[circumitus]

"Good."

As though she were transporting a mere sack of flour, Rey carries Maketh into one of the private rooms Delight had furnished for their resting needs. It's a nice little space. Quiet. Dim. Separate from the flashiness and party noise. A relief.

Rey sets Maketh down onto the bed, before taking a step back. "I'll get the drinks. You just rest. Okay?"

[leashed]

I live by an established set of rules, [he explains simply.]

I've watched others drink before. It's- amusing.

[eyeofthetiger]

[ he raised an eyebrow ]

It sounds like you have experience. Is it because of the weird language?

[ because shouldn't physics be physics? Things can't get screwed up that much can they? ]

[knifecollecting]

I don't know. I think the gods just try to make things work and don't actually make them work the way they do back home. [She shrugs.]

The mopeds don't have engines. They still run.

[eyeofthetiger]

[ well that gets him to shut up and then he just shivered. ]

Right.

No battery or anything.

[ he gulped ]

Uh, maybe we should just get used to them then. [ and not... fiddle around with magic. ]

[knifecollecting]

I'm used to it. [Poor Dean. He has so much to adjust to.]

[circumitus]

To be fair, voluntary body mutilation isn't much a new thing.

[She's seen people jab holes into their skulls and skin in all kinds of horrific looking manners. In some way, Rey can sort of see the appeal. At least cybernetics serve a very unique function.]

Mm. Have dealt with fanatics like those before. Not a fan, have to say.

[Guess where her throat scar came from. If she were a normal human, she'd be dead.]

[mismanagement]

Down she goes, gentle as a feather. Maketh giggles, feeling like a cadet all over again, and pushes herself back up. Settles against the ridiculous pillows. "My hero. Bring me something strong!"

[circumitus]

"I wouldn't settle for anything less."

And there she goes, off to retrieve the most potent bottle of whiskey she can find, as well as the bottle they had been working on already.

It's been a long week. They deserve some respite, goddammit.

It isn't?

[the notion completely mystifies Margaery. though, she comes from a culture where even ear piercings aren't normal]

Oh? I'm sorry to hear that they're not unique to Westeros.

[she's noticed the scars, but feels that it's not polite to mention them unless Rey mentions them first]

He chuckles a bit, knowing from the lack of complaining that she's impressed. "Got an hour per spell slot, but I have a couple of 'em. So we can just hit it when we're ready to go. And uhhhh... I have a general idea? Never been there."

He's not really channeling this one, just casting, so he doesn't even need to still be around when she takes it. Frankly, Taako would say she's getting a hell of a deal.

"You could totally hook me up with some nice wine for my trouble though. Just saying."

[restinglichface]

[It's awful, so awful, but damn if Taako's idea isn't incredible.]

Babe, that may be the best strategy we've come up with for this thing so far. We gotta run with this. Can we use your goth bee-eff as floating bait while he snoozes? Please?

[eyeofthetiger]

Right... So you think you're good enough to shoot a man on the run? Or are you planning to just pick 'em off one by one when they ain't looking?

[ which even Dean has to admit is ideal ]

[ he barked out a laugh ]

Exactly. And if you hven't figured it out yet, never, ever touch Jo's knife collection. Those things are practically her life.

[ you know... just tools of the trade and all. kind of like a chef who gets to fillet a fish. there's a special knife for that. ]

[She sputters, immediately going red.]

Wh-- I, no, I meant-- I mean if you w-want to I guess I'm not a very good dancer!!!!
