Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for October
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: October 10th-14th
Warnings: Newbies, spookies, and evil trees!

If it's your first time here, congratulations! You get the lovely, unique sensation of eating dirt as the Door knocks you facefirst into the ground. You'll probably be a little woozy at first, so take your time getting up- meet some folks, introduce yourself, don't be weird about it. Welcome to Hadriel! You're not the only person who just got to taste alien dirt firsthand, though- there are several people in the same predicament as you, so feel free to say hi! Probably shouldn't spend too much time talking though, because the lovely trees that you thought were just scenery are starting to creep ever closer the more you let your guard down.

All around you is a forest of spooky evil trees- it seems to be just a normal sort of forest at first, but the more you take your eyes off of them, the more they shift around you and close in. Or is that just your imagination? If you move too close to one, look out! They're rather determined to pick you up and stick you into the ground so you might take root- and if you resist, well, a severed bud can still serve as a seed, right?

If the trees tear your clothes though, don't worry, there's plenty of extras to be found lying around the arena if you don't mind them being a bit dirty. Lying on the ground and sometimes hanging off of these tree branches are some free shirts, yours for the taking! You know, if you'd be caught dead with one...

But hey, after you've met new friends and found a new aesthetic, feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

Yes. Ironic to think how quickly we fell from heroes to wanted fugitives... But that is the life we chose.

[At least the situation here would be a reprieve for them from the authorities and public opinion, even if in other ways, it would be harder. He shakes his head, casting it from his mind.]

The more of us that arrive here, the easier it will be to come up with some kind of plan to get us out of this situation, I think. Do you think the others back home are all safe?

[It was hard, to hear themselves defamed the way they had been, but it had been a necessary sacrifice. They knew that what they were doing was the right thing-- that was most important.]

I think they are. Akira had been here for awhile before me, and I got here a month before you-- nothing out of the ordinary for us happened at home that you can remember, right?

[Not that their day-to-day was especially ordinary.]

It's like time isn't moving back home without us.

No, aside from everything in Niijima's Palace. Everything happened as I said -- I never experienced anything to do with this place or other worlds until I arrived today.

[Ann hadn't gone missing, and there was no way Akira could have been gone for months at a time when he'd been in police custody for only the space of a few hours. It seems she's right, and time really does move differently here...]

We're fortunate that we can use our Personas here, at least. That means we can defend ourselves against whatever trials this place might throw at us.

[She nods-- she's been thinking the same thing ever since she got here, in fact.]

I'd hate to think of what would happen to us here if we couldn't. I haven't been here that long, but... things can get pretty nasty.

[She'll never forget her first day. Giant bugs definitely stick with you.]

I probably would have been dead on arrival if not for Carmen.

Yes, myself as well. It was doubly fortunate there are others here who are willing to assist new arrivals. The monsters that attacked on my arrival were impervious to everything I threw at them...

[And it's not like he can heal himself in order to fight for sustained amounts of time, either. It's moments like these that remind Yusuke just how important it is that the Thieves are a team.]

What does it mean, if we can use our Personas, though? If this is the Metaverse, are we inside someone's cognition? Or are the boundaries in this world less clearly defined by its very nature...?

[It's more a rhetorical question he'll spend time pondering himself, more than something he expects Ann to know the answer to. She's probably in the dark about as much as he is, after only a month of being here.]

Well, I've been here long enough that I'm pretty sure it isn't the Metaverse, although that's what I thought at first. People come here from all over the place. But even if it's not someone else's cognition, the rules seem to be similar? We can use our Personas, and our costumes appear with them...

[She sighs, propping a hand against her hip.]

There are a lot of questions, and not a lot of answers.

Perhaps things will become clearer, the longer we spend time here and explore. Isn't that how we've always done things?

[...Winging it and just hoping for the best, more or less, with only the basics from Morgana. Here they don't have anyone like Morgana, but at least there's other people around with more experience than them for answers.]

At the very least, we have each other. It's a selfish thing to say, but... but I think I would have struggled, if I was trapped here alone.

[She smiles a little. Honestly, that's sweet of him to say.]

I would have felt the same way, if it weren't for Akira. I was lucky enough to have him to help me when I got here-- and I'm glad that the both of us are here to do the same for you. None of us are alone.

[For that much, she's incredibly thankful.]

Right. I'm indebted to you both once again.

[He returns the smile, and it's one of relief. As long as they stick together, they should be able to get through anything, in this world or in their own.]

Are there any interesting places around the city you could perhaps show me? I can return here to contemplate the architecture later.

Oh, sure! There's-- well, you've already seen the coliseum, and the market district is...

[Well. It's barren. Her enthusiasm leaves her, knocked out like gust of wind, and she frowns for a moment, chewing at her lower lip.]

There's not really any nightlife or anything here, you know? But you've gotta be hungry, at least. You should come home with me for a little while, grab something to eat! We've actually managed to scrape up some good stuff here.

[Yusuke is permanently hungry, so he looks a little sheepish at the offer. He can already feel his stomach growling a little in anticipation...]

If it isn't too much trouble, I'd like that. Is the food particularly different here?
