Event Log: Dreamwalker the Second

What: The event log for the Dreamwalker part 2 event

When: October 14th-20th (the second log will go up on Oct 23rd, please keep the two weeks of the event separate!)
Warnings: All different kinds of dreams falling under the umbrella of Delight, Rage, Sorrow, and Hope.

This time, the weird stuff doesn't happen when you're awake- as a matter of fact, your waking hours are the normal ones. That's because you're forced to sleep by some unknown entity, getting more and more exhausted by the moment as night falls. Better make sure you're always around a soft pillow.

Once asleep, it doesn't get any less weird- your dreams will be influenced by one of the four gods that make up the first week. Something to make you smile, something to make you angry- or something that reminds you of your deepest regret or most vulnerable hope, they're all things that you're dreaming about now for some reason, no matter how hard you may try to pull away from them.

To make matters more complicated, there are others intruding on your dreams who definitely don't belong there, and while they may seem like manifestations at first, it becomes clear that these others are actually the consciousness of other members of Hadriel, getting some top quality exposure to your angriest, happiest, most sorrowful moments. Hope it doesn't get awkward when you see them tomorrow...

[Fortunately, that's exactly what brave, strong superheroes are for. Genesis zips toward the car, getting hold of the chassis, and he's about to toss it away when he hears the screaming inside. Whoever sent this sedan flying through the air hadn't bothered to make sure it was empty first. Setting the vehicle and its passengers down gently isn't quite as impressive, but this way, everyone lives.

As soon as his hands are free, he hurries over to the woman who nearly ended up smashed by a Chevy. Someplace beyond the buildings around them, there's a crashing sound]

Are you all right, ma'am?

I am so sorry about her.

[Laura is basically in shock because 1) she nearly got smushed by a car and 2) the guy who rescued her has blue skin. which she's never seen before. so she's assuming he has to be from outer space like Superman, right? only a little more blue and a little less Christopher Reeve]

I. You. You saved me. Thanks.

[This is a good dream, one of the very best--and in the very best dreams, Genesis never seems to notice anyone noticing the stranger things about him. The woman's surprise here is no exception; narrowly escaping death is the only explanation that comes to mind. Before he moves on--the plan is, of course, to move on in search of the villain tormenting this fine city--he glances over her face and arms.]

You aren't hurt, are you?

How did you do that?

[that's good, because Laura is still having a hard time wrapping her brain around the concept of blue skin. and superpowers. and it wouldn't be fair for her confusion to ruin his dream. she tries to summon a smile at him, though]

No. No, I think I'm fine.

I'm pretty strong, ma'am.

[And modest, too!]

We'd better get you someplace safe. Whatever threw that car sounds angry.

[In real life, he'd have deposited her someplace and let her figure out a hiding place for herself. There's always more people to rescue--it's not a great idea to get caught up in watching out for just one of them. In a dream, however, the rules bend a little.]

All right. You don't think they're gonna try that again, do you?

[Laura's not a fan of real life. in real life, the bad guys win]

[If she wants to do introductions, they can do introductions. This is an easy dream to navigate; nothing too bad can possibly happen, even if they happen to waste a little time chatting.

That said, when she brings up the car-throwing something, he glances back in the direction the car came from.]

I'm not sure. [Which is not a satisfying answer from a superhero, so he quickly moves on.] But I'll make sure it can't hurt you.
