To be fair, for Rose it's often the latter. She doesn't pretend to understand relationships between people very well. This is despite the fact that she does her best to look and act like a person.

"I don't know," Rose admits. Because she actually doesn't. She might say they are, but, "It's complicated, I guess. We didn't get along at first, like. At all. But then she was there for me when I needed it and I tried to do the same for her and... it's just kind of gone from there."
