Event Log: Dust to Dust

What: The event log for the Dust to Dust event
Where: All over the city!
When: January 14th-17th
Warnings: A big ol' mess.

It starts off small: the wind picks up, particles of sand and dirt and dust begin to fill the air. You might not even notice at first, not until you have to wipe the dust off your windows to see outside. After all, it's been a long time since Hadriel has experienced weather, and it's never experienced a weather event not caused by the gods before.

But the gods aren't in charge of the weather now, and even if they could prevent this dust storm, they have way too many other things to do. So it's up to you to deal with it, and as the wind rises and the dust storm moves into the city, there'll be plenty to deal with.

Once the storm is at its peak, it'll be almost impossible to see outside - and it won't be safe to go wandering, either. Entirely besides falling and hurting yourself, if you aren't wrapped up well enough the particles in the air will abrade your skin. Love that sandpaper feel! Oh, and breathing? Yeah, better make sure your nose and mouth are covered, or else they'll be full of sand, too. Hope you've got some goggles stashed away to protect your eyes. Luckily, it won't last too long - 'cause you'll have plenty of cleaning to do once the storm is over.

( She hunkers down pretty quickly, though the apartment she finds isn't exactly... hers. Serah's still new. She doesn't exactly have an apartment. Not yet. The finer details are unimportant, really. What is important is the gasp of surprise Serah lets out, startled with a hand on her heart as she turns towards the table and gets... greeted. )

— Ah!

( She... is confused. But a small, friendly looking child is enough to let her guard down on that, especially when he's covered in the remnants of the storm outside. Quickly, she turns back to the kitchen, grabbing a cloth from the countertop. )

Were you outside? ( Serah why are you asking that, obviously he was. A concerned scowl crosses her face as she steps back towards the kid. ) You shouldn't be out there right now, it's dangerous.

[demonsional]

I was but it was on a accident!

[When comes back with the cloth, Hayden's shaking himself off thoughtlessly, like an animal, and running his hands through his thick red hair, spreading dust even further.]

This is also a accident please accept my biggest apologies!

[It's hard to tell if he means the trespassing or the whole...getting dust everywhere thing.]

( Well, at least he's getting it off himself. Serah covers her mouth with the cloth and turns her head away from the cloud of dust and sand that gets kicked up and swallows the scolding tone as he apologises, crouching down a little so she's closer to his level. )

It's alright. You're out of the storm now. Are you okay? You're not hurt, are you?

[demonsional]

Nope! I am very good at being hurt!

[By which he means to say he's very good at not being hurt by little spills. Hayden looks around.]

Is this your house pretty lady?

( Her eyes narrow in confusion at that wording but Serah quickly shakes her head at the question. )

No. I was just trying to avoid the storm.

( Come to think of it- ) Do you have a home here?
