By now, the gods have probably done enough weird crap to you while you're asleep for you to be a little suspicious- but it's not like you can just not sleep, especially when there are a few supernatural forces making your eyes droopy and your body feel heavy.
And now, when you fall asleep, you'll wake up somewhere else and you'll likely have quite a different temperament- you'll be younger, maybe a little more naive and innocent, and you won't exactly remember all the wild stuff that's happened to your adult self. Maybe now you'll be a little more trusting and emotional, hm? The gods could definitely use a little boost in power, and what better way to do it than to harness the power of overemotional kiddos!
Or maybe you aren't affected at all and find yourself surrounded by youths. What are you going to do when your best friend doesn't know how to cook for themselves? Or your bitter rival is throwing a temper tantrum because they broke their favorite toy? Nobody asked for this kind of responsibility, but think about what would happen if nobody was around to take care of these babies...► This log covers January 23rd-Feb 1st.

He shakes his head and bows a little, politely.
"No, little lady. I was only passing through. But you show good skill, and I could not help but stop to watch."

She trails off as something occurs to her. Her dress is not overly fancy, and there are no servants attending her. Her governess isn't even present.
"I said nothing of being a Lady. How did you know?"
Maybe he knows more about this strange place than she does, and she can learn something! That's what she's hoping, anyway.
no subject
"So lady you are, unless you prefer me not to use that term."
no subject
"Well, you are right, so I don't mind if you call me a lady."
She pauses from the swordplay and gives a formal curtsey - the exact sort that would have gotten a brief approving look from her parents for doing it neatly and correctly.
no subject
"Then well met, lady! Maglor, at your service. Might I know your name?"
Although he's more and more convinced he knows who this is.
no subject
"My name is Syl--" she starts, and then cuts herself off from spouting off a long string of names. There's only one in the list she wants to go by here. "Please call me Ikaruga."
no subject
"Well met, Lady Ikaruga. Tis good to make the acquaintance of so formidable a swordswoman. Your teachers are clearly very skilled, and must enjoy so studious a pupil!"
no subject
"I have to be strong," she says firmly. "Only strong mages belong in the Death's Head Caucus guild. I have to train very hard every day so that I can protect my family and so that I won't have to marry that stupidhead my father says I have to marry when I am of age."
It's not exactly the most dignified or ladylike word, but it's clear that it's the most polite she can muster when it comes to this particular person.
