[March] 'that's my rubber ducky' [closed to Party Poison]
After waking up, having a cup of coffee and some breakfast, she sits down on the couch and stares at the thing through slightly narrowed eyes. With her brain more in gear, she's sure that touching it will give her some clue as to who it really belongs to, but the thing is, she isn't sure that she wants to touch it. It's disturbing, and she's not one hundred percent sure but she thinks that there might be a weird smell coming from it.
Eventually, she prods it with the tips of two fingers, and in this way catches snatches of the comings and goings of the person it belongs to over the course of the day. From what she can tell, they get out and wander around a lot, and they spend way too much time just watching people.
Morning blurs into evening, and she's starting to feel too much like a voyeur - and bored. She considers leaving the thing in the corridor outside her apartment, and puffs her cheeks out as she looks down at it.]
Would you do something so I can see who you are? Jesus. Jerk.
[One last try, and it's finally the one she needs. She hears a voice, and she sees--]
Ghoul?
[It almost feels too easy. She almost gives up entirely.
But then she's standing on Ghoul's doorstep with whatever the hell this thing is held between two pillowcases so she doesn't have to touch it again, kicking at the base of the door with her foot because if he can't tell her who it belongs to, she's just going to leave it with him and let him figure it out.]
Re: [March] 'that's my rubber ducky' [closed to Party Poison]
He's the one keeping down the fort when there's a knock at the door, making him perk up curious from his spot at the table. People don't...knock. At least the people who live here don't, so he isn't sure how to react right away.
But he slinks out of his chair, quiet, standing facing the door. Should she "knock" again- he finally moves, not towards the door, but to a sideroom, she he can look outside.
Should she turn her head in the right moment...that sure is someone peeking out at her. ]

Hey!
[Manners? What are those? It's no wonder she and Ghoul get along so well. She hefts up the weird mouse head, trying to get a better hold on it.]
This belong to one of you?
no subject
But he doesn't mull on the thought for long, as he immediately spots the very indistinguishable Mousekat, expression suddenly changing into obvious surprised confusion.
It even has the cracked eye, what the fuck?
For a moment, he's frozen, but then he moves quickly away from the window, just for how long it takes to get out of the laundry room and do a sharp turn to the front door, which he opens pretty damn fast.]
What the f--where'd you get that?!
no subject
Is it yours?
[She doesn't answer his question, but puts the thing down at his feet and straightens up to fold her arms loosely over her stomach.]
no subject
Give him a moment. He's staring at the head, the urge to snatch it right out of her hands rising, but he doesn't, for whatever reason. But she sets it down and he's...well, that's fine. Probably, right?]
How the fuck- [ Mostly mumbled over his breath. He picks the head up, turning it over, looking for the most distinct marks - the fucked up eye, a couple of stains and matted fur, a nick in the ear. Even the godawful smell. This is definitely his.]
Where'd you find it?
no subject
Hadriel's screwing around with us again.
[Julie peers past him, into the hallway behind.]
You're one of Ghoul's friends?
no subject
He stares at her, a few more seconds of silence hanging between them than would be deemed normal.]
Yea'.
[ Is he supposed to know who she is? Probably not. He hasn't gone out much. Even most people here kind of blur together.]
Who're you?
no subject
[The only reason she hasn't already turned on her heel and left is because this guy knows Ghoul too, and he looks like the kind of person who might just be from the same place. She's not sure what gives it away - maybe it's just the general air about the guy - but she looks him up and down obviously enough, lips pressed together.]
Not seen you before.
no subject
And something about not being great with "outsiders", while being forced to stay in an actual town for the first time in years. And everything about this context.]
Ain't supposed to.
[ That barely qualifies as a reply, but hey. That's Party Poison.]
M' new.
[ A little more like it.
He watches her too close... instinctively looking for some sort of visible weapon.]
no subject
[So he's one of those reclusive types. Like Whistler, only... he is definitely not like whistler. She squints slightly at him, a quizzical expression on her face as she waves her hand and says brusquely.]
Hey, my eyes are up here. What are you looking for?
no subject
How long you known 'im?
[ His look threatens a third degree, and it doesn't seem like he's bound to give any actual answers.
Not yet, anyway.]
no subject
[He arrived not long after she did, if she has the dates worked out right. They'd got off to a good start when she'd helped him break into a building, if 'breaking in' is what you can really call it when no one lived there anyway.]
He's pretty cool.
no subject
[ He keeps giving her a look like he doesn't trust her- and she doesn't, truth be told, but it has less to do with her and more about his way of relating with people.
Which is not at all.]
Know anyone else? In 'ere.
[ Now, this is more small talk than anything else. He doesn't actually have any questions to ask. Anything to say. He's just stubborn.]
no subject
[Her eyebrows go up slightly. He might not be one for much conversation, but now she's curious, and that's more than enough to make her want to stick around and prod for a few answers.]
Not just you and him, then.
no subject
+1 grump to his face. But that's a drop in an ocean.
He grunts.]
Mebbe.
no subject
So, three of you, at least. You all from the same place?
no subject
Why d' you wanna know?
no subject
[Shrug! She's not opposed to being told to fuck off, but he hasn't said it yet, so here she is asking polite questions.]
Besides, did you a favour, didn't I?
no subject
Ain't a favor if its an accident.
no subject
God knows I didn't want to fucking touch it.
no subject
S' wrong with it?
no subject
[She's sure she can smell the thing from here. Like, seriously, guy.]
It has to be some kind of health hazard.
no subject
[ He probably has, but he's not sure how. Plus water and cleaning products aren't exactly in abundance back in the Zones. And he might ruin the damn thing.]
Ain't like it, don't put it on. [ Just as needlessly rash as ever.
He has absolutely no idea why he's still standing in the doorway, leering at the girl.]
no subject
Sure. Well, you have your gross rat-head back. I'm gone.
[Julie turns on her heel, one hand raised to give a wave back over her shoulder.] See you, dude. Tell G I said hi.
End!
