Nick wouldn't blame Rey for not wanting to dig too deep right now. He squeezes her hand, returning her smile despite the subdued frustration written in his brow. He can't change what he is, and sometimes, that's for the better; however, other times, it's not. He hasn't figured out how he's going to bring up his memory issues, but he knows he'll have to at some point.
"She said she was like a ticking time bomb," he explains, trying to meet Rey's eyes. "She might not've liked me or anything about the situation, but she worked hard to get you back. Hopefully, she understood how grateful I was and didn't think it was just clever programming. I don't know if she got just how much you mean to me."
