He's thankfully not far, but even if he was, he'd have rushed to the lab as fast as his synthetic frame could carry him. He hasn't seen Rey since she became Safronov, but just because she's been out of sight doesn't mean she's been out of mind. Despite all that's come to light in her absence, he's worried about Rey constantly, wondered if she'd ever walk through the door to their home again... if one could even call it a home without their family. He's only really there these days to feed the pets. Tripod has been holding down the fort, but even the cyclopean cat has gotten lethargic without Rey, lying around just waiting for her to return.
Hopefully, he won't have to wait much longer. Nick doesn't bother knocking on the door to the lab as he usually does when checking on Alphys, letting himself in, his shoes announcing his arrival; his steps are faster than his usual pace, purposeful.
