Maedhros didn't regret caring for his nephew. Never. Even when he started to fall ill himself. He kept working as long as he could until even his strength started to fail him, and his mind started telling him there were people there that shouldn't be.

But eventually he couldn't deny it and went to his room, seeking sleep in the hopes of staving off the worst of memories and images that he knew would just do more harm.
