abyssalarcana: (I saw there a great abyss)

[For now, Caedra has taken up residence in one of the imported houses. Its strangeness doesn't really bother her any - she selected it because it was just a bit farther away from potential neighbors than any other place, though admittedly not by much. It's too much space, actually, with its three bedrooms. Perhaps she'll find ways to fill those eventually.

What's most notable, though, is that rather than hiding which house is hers, she seems to have made it her duty to scare people off who might wander by. A daily casting of hallucinatory terrain, just before dawn, keeps its surroundings looking completely impassable, with dense winding thorned vines and jagged rust-colored rocks marring the surface of the surrounding landscape. It's a comfortable little barrier. It's also completely illusory should someone try to walk through it, but the idea is to keep people away before they even start.

On approach, Kyna will notice Caedra sitting out on her balcony, working intently at something with pen and paper. She's singing a song - quietly, to herself, lost in her own thoughts. At a distance it may be intelligible but if Kyna manages to creep closer it seems to be a folk song, the story of a horseman from Abachar who rode bravely into the dangerous mountains of Tochar to rescue his kidnapped lover.

Caedra doesn't seem to be paying close attention to anyone who walks by, though, so long as they stay outside that thorny perimeter.]
