Event log: How Delightful
Who: Anyone and everyone!

Warnings: Partying too hard, poor life choices, underage drinking, the worst hangovers of all time.
What: Delight's resurrection.
Where: Throughout the city, starting in the bar.
When: March 23rd-April 3rd
Warnings: Partying too hard, poor life choices, underage drinking, the worst hangovers of all time.
On the morning of March 23rd, bright and early, Delight is resurrected. Her temple is restored, and her bar appears in the city. What does that mean? Well, obviously it's time to celebrate. We hope everyone brought their party shoes! From March 23rd to March 27th, the party will be mostly contained in and around Delight's bar, with an invitation from the goddess herself. But it won't be long before she decides that's just not good enough - gotta bring the party to the people! From March 28th to April 3rd, the natural light is dimmed and replaced with flashing colored lights, fireworks, and even a few disco balls. Loud music blares through the city, making it hard to sleep, and a wide variety of trouble is available to be gotten into.
Wanna drink away the pain of being trapped in a hellcave? There's unlimited amounts of alcohol of all kinds, and Delight will be happy to supply anything that might be missing. More interested in karaoke-ing your heart out? Hit up one of the jukeboxes. Enjoy gleeful displays of your own mortality? Here's a skateboard and a ramp, have fun. There's just about anything you could desire, as long as what you desire is to party hard and make bad decisions. And hey, if you find yourself getting tired, grab one (or five) of Delight's special energy shots. They'll eliminate your need for sleep, food, water, cure an oncoming hangover and immediately relax any sore muscles you've got for 24 hours per shot! There's no down side! (Except for all the effects coming back to hit you at once when the shot wears off, but whatever.)
After about a week and a half of tequila shots, keg stands, roman candle battles, tagging the city with free spraypaint, inappropriate party games, and balloon hats made to look like rocket ships (wait... that's not a rocket ship), Delight realizes everyone's partied out and starts to wind things down. On April 3rd, she'll clean up the city, removing everything except for a few remaining fireworks and disco balls, stored in her temple. Her bar will still be around, if you can stand to even look at liquor after all the poor choices you made. Otherwise, lay in bed and try to recover from your hangover while the city goes back to normal.► This log covers March 23rd-April 3rd.

Hey, I'm not arguing.
[He grins, taking another swig and letting the alcohol warm his insides. It's a little weird, them actually getting along--when Nick's not yelling or throwing things at him, she's actually a pretty cool chick.]
I never knew my mom. My dad was the opposite of all that, though; he refused to settle for life underground. He found the surface, even when our chief said it was just a myth. No pit life for my old man. That's why I decided it was gonna be the same for me. No way in hell I was gettin' stuck in Jiiha forever.
You got out, too, right?
no subject
[Well, shit. That's a sudden gutpunch of feels that Nick is not at all prepared for. She inhales a shaky breath and squeezes her eyes shut for a moment, waiting for the sudden wave of sadness to pass.]
He was cool.
[I miss him, she thinks, like she hasn't allowed herself to think since she was a very small girl. She drops her face into both hands and just breathes for a moment, ragged, in and out.]
Yeah. I got out.
[She rubs her hands over her face and pulls her head up, blinking hard.]
Made it all the way to Chicago, and still managed to fuck everything up anyway. Gimme.
[The last part said as she reaches for the bottle of booze. She really needs another drink.]

[There she goes again, doing that thing that makes him unsure if she's gonna puke or start crying. Honestly, he'd prefer the first one. At least that he knows what to do for. Awkwardly, he leans just a little to the side, bumping his shoulder against hers while she pulls herself together. No tears, no vomit, so far, so good, he thinks, and this time she gets to take the bottle back, even if he takes it right back after the first swallow she gets.]
Everyone fucks up. You just gotta keep going, even if it sucks. And yeah, before you say anything, I don't know where Chicago is, and yeah, I know that sounds like bs, but that doesn't make it true, yanno?
no subject
[She barely feels the burn of the alcohol as it slides down her throat, insides going more numb with each passing minute. That's good. Numb is good, numb is better, numb means she can't hurt anymore.]
Doesn't matter. [She shrugs.] Even if I do somehow manage to get back to my world, I can't live in Chicago anymore. There's nothing left for me there.
[Which is why she ended up in Vancouver in the first place - looking for somewhere else to be than a city full of ghosts and memories, searching until the road ran out and she found herself across the border in a city full of hidden monsters like herself.]
Here's just as good a place as any to fuck things up, I guess.
no subject
Pretty much. But I mean, it's not all that bad, yeah? Not here, here sucks. Pits always suck. But we're gonna get the hell outta here, one way or the other.
Look, I know you think I'm a dumbass. And maybe I'm not all that smart, okay? I got ideas, but I'm not so good on execution. That's what my bro was all about. Together, we made the perfect team. And with Yoko having my back--
[He stops a minute, taking another drink himself. Maybe this is a little hard on him, too, saying this stuff. What the hell is he even doing?]
Anyway, point is. I still got my ideas. Something's gotta give eventually. They can't keep us here forever, and if they try, we're gonna make 'em sorry. And while we're here, I mean, you're one of us, too. So I got your back, too. Okay?
no subject
She laughs, weakly, and drops her head back into her hands again.]
If there's one thing I've learned from my stupid life, it's that the only person you can always count on to have your back is you.
[She swallows hard, pushing back the rise of bile in her throat.]
I don't - I don't feel so good.

[Kamina shakes his head, starting to disagree--you gotta have family, the kind you make if not the kind you're actually related to--when he hears the rest. She definitely doesn't sound too good, either. Tentatively, he reaches a hand out to rub her back, just between the shoulder blades.]
If you gotta puke, probably better to just get it over with, you know?? It'll make things a lot better. Probably.
no subject
Nah, I just - just gotta lie down for a sec. I'll be OK.
[Puking is for amateurs, and Nick is a veteran when it comes to holding her liquor. She sits up, pulls her head out of her hands, and then slowly curls over onto her side. The ground is fine. This is all fine. She's got this under control.]
no subject
[She isn't just--she is. She's just gonna lay down on the sidewalk. Even he knows better than to sleep out in the open like this. Sure, for now the monsters keep to the caves, but that doesn't mean they'll stay there! Sighing, he shakes his head, setting the bottle aside and abandoning it.]
C'mon. No way that's comfortable. Let's get you back ho-- to where you're staying, okay?
[Not home. He doesn't know how to do that, not yet, but it's on a list.]
no subject
[She's not gonna fall asleep - she's not that pathetically drunk. (Yet.)]
'Mstayin' in a house. It was empty.
no subject
I've heard that before. Hell, I've said that before, usually before I fall asleep somewhere stupid.
[The rest of what she says gives him at least some direction. A house, and not one of those weird towers like where Z was staying.]
They all were. Or most of 'em, anyway--I guess people liked the apartments better. Wouldn't you rather be laying down there instead of on the street like this?
no subject
[Because that would mean getting up, and that's just. Not a thing that's happening right now. Nick squeezes her eyes tightly shut.]
no subject
[There's a long, drawn-out sigh, and then Kamina stands, moving around to face her.]
Guess I don't have a choice, then.
[And then he's moving, bending over, and whoop, scooping her up into his arms, grunting just a little with the effort. She's almost as tall as he is, after all; there's a lot to balance.]
no subject
'Fyou drop me, Imma be pissed.
no subject
[She makes that sound, and for a minute he thinks she might hit him, or flail around, yell at him, something, but no. No, just a threat, and at that he halfway laughs, shifting her weight carefully and cradling her a little more securely against his bare chest.]
Yeah, yeah. You're always pissed. Where am I taking you? Where's the house you're staying in?
no subject
[She blinks her eyes open, then shuts them tight again, leaning in close to him.]
no subject
They're all weird-lookin'. C'mon, you gotta give me something. I can't just leave you here.
[He holds her steadily while she shifts around, not sure what she's doing--or what he's doing, for that matter. He could always take her back to where he's been staying, but then what would she think when she sobered up? He is so not into that headache, thank you. Well. At least not without any reason for it.]
no subject
[She's mumbling, half-conscious at this point. It's fine if he leaves her. Nick doesn't really care about anything anymore.]
no subject
Hey, you should know better by now. I'm not everyone, I'm Kamina!
[Still holding her, he wanders in a mostly-straight line towards housing, the discarded bottle of vodka left behind.]
no subject
[She halfway laughs, quiet and muffled.]
Hey, y'member that big snowstorm a while back?
no subject
Mmmhmmm.
[The sound rumbles in his chest as he continues on, careful not to trip over the occasional bit of rubble.]
I remember. Why'd you bring it up?
no subject
[She laughs again, but it sounds a little sadder this time.]
Imma special snowflake too.
no subject
What? But you're...and that was...
[Normal-sized, and huge and creepy, are the missing words. He stops in his tracks a moment, swaying just a little--it's hard to process thoughts and walk at the same time--but he doesn't put her down.]
How's that work?
no subject
[But she's noticed that he stopped, and she tilts her head up, squinting to see him.]
Where are we?
no subject
Hey, stop that. Maybe sometimes you're a giant creepy-ass doll, but that doesn't make you a monster. You're still human most of the time.
[He shifts her weight a little, looking around.]
Towards the caves, right at the edge of the houses. You still haven't told me where you're staying. Bar's about...five minutes behind us?
