Event Log: A Hope for the Future

What: The event log for the A Hope for the Future event
Where: All over the city!
When: April 15th-April 19th

It's finally time to reap the rewards you've earned from all that hard work collecting and returning the Hope orbs! Be careful walking the streets during the small earthquakes, but feel free to admire the scenery as your beautiful city reassembles its way back into its former glory.

There are new houses where the destroyed buildings once were, and they're perfect for a single person or pair of lovebirds. In addition, you'll find that the electricity to these new houses, and all other homes and shops in the city is restored. The food is better, the monsters are gone- hey, this city might be livable again!

To cap it all off, we've got a feast waiting for you on the 19th! Come one, come all, and enjoy all of your favorite foods, drinks, and party games. It's been awhile since we've all gotten together to celebrate something good, so get your party on and toss all your troubles away!

[She just sighs and stops at an intersection between the roads.]

Cooking can be--difficult? [yes, the burned smell still lingers. and the feeling of insecurity after being murdered also lingers]

I trust them all completely. I should introduce you to the Elves, they're all wonderful. [maybe she can distract herself by planning a dinner party] Yes, she did just the other day.

I've had orchard fruit, but it's not the same. [orchard fruit doesn't look like anything from home. it's tasty, but unusual] How would we take it with us?

[she accepts the shortcake with a smile]

[she's scanning over the nearby tables to no avail]

The silkie chicken soup is the one with the black chicken. There's wolfberries, ginseng, ginger, red dates, and star anise in it too. The high life eggs..might be all gone. Sorry. [She gestures down to her plate.] Do you want to try a slider? Or one of these little sweet and spicy sausages?

[she's completely unaccustomed to someone being as forward as Tucker is, but she knows how to side-step with the best of them, so don't worry about her]

I--see. [brightly] I will take your word for it!

[he'd still last longer than her third husband. there are drawbacks to marrying a virgin who'd just come of age and that was one of them.

she smiles warmly] Very well, then. Show me.

"Forgetting is easy. Remembering is harder. When the dark closes closer, the hope feels unearned. It hurts too much to know they forgot when they try to remember."

[Riding out highs and lows like that is exhausting, too, even with the good parts. That brief, anxious expression on Komaeda's face makes him regret opening his mouth in the first place, though.]

I'm sorry, I probably should not have said anything. But, I often find it difficult not to be concerned for your wellbeing.

( It gets a nod, and Kate's eyes cast across the rubble dotted across the skyline, mapping out new paths between buildings. It's certainly different, making her way across the city like this, but she likes it. After months of being stuck making strange detours on the rooftops due to derelict, destroyed buildings, these floating blocks are a blessing. )

One who gives us most the stuff here.

( Sure, the other gods provide certain things, but Hope seems to be worked to the bone to keep their hosts alive and healthy enough to feed off. )

[Not knowing that he has no idea which way is home, she starts hauling him in the direction he pointed towards. She's the one with the coordination here.]

( He's always understood that about her. Even if, in recent months, she's been shown more contact than she's had in a very long time, all of it comes slowly to her.

Kate doesn't laugh at the answer, but it's hard to bite back a smile. Someone has to work, after all. )

( Hypocrisy, party of one. This is the same woman who reacted to power exhaustion by trying to rebuild the clinic. As one does. )

... Good. ( Despite the recent events, the flu (which she thankfully avoided catching) and the demons, Kate's doing well. She's had some measure of peace and most importantly, the clinic continues to run without her present 24/7, worrying over it. ) Could do with more entertainment here.

( And fewer demons appearing. )
