Exactly! It was a home for unfortunate books. [ And now he is really laughing, remembering scouring the shelves for old treatises on forging and the history of metalwork. ]

I saw some of those old manuscripts! From back when they were just inventing the art of making parchment, and the runes were not yet developed to the degree that they were in Atar's time -- before he invented the Elven-script. . .

Say, do you think he maybe invented the script letters so he wouldn't have to crane his neck and wreck his eyes reading that awful old rectilinear style?
