Our culture in general thrives around conflict resolution and working for the betterment of the whole rather than the few. Beyond that, we simply despise violence and brutality; we are at our hearts a peaceful species. Our involvement in external affairs grew from a desire to see that same peace and order extended further into the galaxy.
