Though Carlisle gives Kat a look somewhere between confused and contemptuous, he says nothing more about her observations on the sky. Perhaps they have very different values for such things; after all, it's not his memories of the color of the sky that Carlisle fears losing. To him, there is so much more at stake down the road that such a loss would be paltry in comparison, at best.
