glacius: (But I remain unconvinced.)

Investigating is a better term, and that would become apparent if Serah had more time to observe the serpentine alien. Glacius doesn't give her the chance, however; his sharp hearing detects the heavy footfalls of someone running unevenly through the shifting sand while she's still decently far away, and he swivels his head up on that long neck to look her way. The glint of a metal arrow tip immediately catches his attention and, rather than risk an engagement here, those oddly familiar green eyes turn away as he makes an arching dive right back into the surf.

It might seem like an odd and sudden retreat for something as big and powerful-looking as he is, but Glacius gets the idea that he doesn't want to fight with this one. He also, however, does not want to risk coming under fire from arrows, even if his icy shell could withstand them, so he tries to avoid the confrontation entirely. There's a splash as his body makes contact with the ocean, but once the spume and foam clears it's easy to see that the water here isn't deep enough for a being of his size to fully submerged itself. It is more like the alien disappeared entirely once he reached the water... but Serah can probably feel those green eyes on her once more after a few more moments tick by, and if she casts her gaze out towards the horizon, she might be able to discern their light among the dark waves further out. He's still watching her; whether it is out of distrust, curiosity, or worry that she might make off with some of those shells is hard to discern at this point.
