You wake up on the hard earth of the colosseum. By the state of things and the various aches and pains in your body, you've probably been passed out there for awhile. A few things should immediately become clear to you upon an initial assessment.1. You're not aloneOf all of these alarming things, the skittery object might be your largest concern. Be wary when turning corners or shutting out the lights: the Hunters work best when your vision is obscured, so their gelatinous form is even harder to spot. Their main goal will be to kill people of course, though they prefer to hide in corners and smaller rooms. Watch out when trying to work through the halls of the colosseum to find the outdoors- they're surprisingly quick, and they prefer to kill their prey by opening their face-flaps and wrapping their mouths around your head. Fun!
2. You're near other people who look to be in a similar state.
3. You're also near an assortment of human shaped lamps.
4. You're also near something that skitters off into the shadows of the colosseum.
More information on Hunters can be found here!
Second largest concern? Maybe it's the people lamps. Maybe it's the actual people around you. Whatever it is, be sure to familiarize yourself with it quickly. The devil you know is better than the devil you don't, after all.
All done with the horrible monsters and awkward greetings? Try your hand at exploring the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies until your little heart is content. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers November 10th-17th.
► Feel free to make your own logs, as well!
► All characters now arrive with phones that have network communication.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

When someone who he thinks he recognizes from footage of the Winter Soldier, aka Bucky Barnes, aka the man he's heard about from Nat (and to some degree, Steve) in turn emerges, he has to take a second to tell if he's hallucinating, and then a second to tell himself that it doesn't matter if he is. Either way, that first and foremost is probably someone who needs his help.
So, he steps out from behind cover, and clears his throat, approaching with a bottle of water carefully in hand.
"Are you hurt?"
no subject
However, unsurprised as he may be, he still had drawn out one of the knives he has on him in preparation.
The question gets answered with silence and a long look, as if he's trying to determine if this is some kind of a trick. He knows Banner's face and a little about him but not much. Certainly not enough to make an informed decision on whether this man is someone he can turn his back to in any way.
Finally though, he does answer with a shake of his head. "M'fine." he says, voice coming out odd due to little use as of late.
"What do you know about where we are?"
no subject
He admits, quietly.
"But I can tell you what I do know. Only, this is a dangerous part of town. You should come with me to the residential quarter."
Taking a few steps in that direction.
"Long conversations are safer behind closed doors in this city."
no subject
Well, that would be good.
So, sucking in a breath, he trails after him, hands in his pockets, fiddling with one of the knives as he does so. Trust is far from what he has for the man right now but he suspects it's better than going at all this alone.

"The city seems to be a cave. We all arrived here a month ago- it seems like you're part of a second wave, of sorts."
no subject
"There are others? Who are they?" It's a simple question and he's not expecting to know any of the people in more than a periphery way but he decides he should ask nonetheless.
no subject
It's almost impossible to get a solid estimate in a city like this.
"Not everyone is friendly, but the outright aggressive ones are more the exception than the rule."
no subject
"Is anyone taking charge? Who's leading?" Because he assume someone will at least try, if not actually succeed. Though maybe not enough time has passed, he can't entirely say.
no subject
He admits, with a shake of his head.
"I hope we're working on it, but-"
no subject
"Not much reason to trust at the moment," he points out. "At least not that I've seen."
no subject
Bruce is of the camp determined to find a way out.
no subject
"If we're lucky," he says. "You'll be right on the second count. " Then he smiles, a bitter little expression. "Think well be that lucky?"
no subject
He hopes for the best, of course, but has gotten awful used to preparing for the worst of the worst.
"There are some young men here with more experience travelling like this than I have, but I can't make heads or tails of the stories they tell me."
no subject
"So," he says carefully. "We're working with next to nothing." He smiles but it's not even close to sincere. "It could be worse."
no subject
He points out, with a very faint twitch of a smile in return- he seems to mean his.
no subject
no subject
He's been trying.
no subject
"What do you want?" It's a simple question yet one he feels obligated to ask. He's a thing that bends to demands, at least he had been, and while he can pretend that Banner would do this out of the goodness of his heart, he can't actually put any hope behind it.
no subject
It honestly wouldn't even occur to him to ask for something in return for this.
"Want what?"
no subject
It may not occur to anyone else but he has no desire to be under anyone's debt, especially not right now and Banner is no exception to that.
no subject
He says, couching it not in generosity but as a question of resource non-scarcity.
"You'll be able to find lots, and I'll be able to find more."
no subject
"All right," he agrees, looking to Banner then the landscape around them. "I can work with that."
no subject
"I have to get back to the clinic, but from there, I can point you the way to housing."
It seems like the best thing to do.
no subject
Then after a beat, he asks "There's a clinic? Or have you been working to set one up?"
no subject
He says, because there are a few people involved now.
"It's slow going, to be sure, but if you see any supplies, it would be a tremendous help."
