"Same. I only found two other people the whole time." And neither of those people are likely to want to ever speak with him again considering how poorly he took the whole thing.

"Peace and quiet sure, but it felt ... wrong. It's not the same sort of silence when you're up fishing before the birds wake up. It was more like when you're out late at night and know someone's watching you but you can't find them."

While he sequesters himself away out of an irrational need to protect himself and others, he doesn't enjoy being alone. It was not a fun time for him.
