If the rain on your face isn't enough to wake you up in the colosseum, maybe the thundering footsteps and- well, thunder- is. The first thing that you may notice is that it's incredibly wet around here, with winds that could knock you over if you aren't careful and thunder that brings with it a torrent of constant rainfall.
That's all fine though, because the gods saw fit to help you out on your way in and now everyone will be waking up wearing a rain coat! These coats are a little odd, and some of them are downright silly, but we trust that you'll make do. Of course, a few of the raincoats have additional sleeves, neck holes, and entirely too many buttons as well- but hey, it's the best we could do.
Wait, what was that about thundering footsteps? Oh right, as you're navigating your new fashion choices, there are some monsters afoot who will want nothing more than to grind you into a pulp and eat you- well, if you're organic, that is. If you're not organic, then they still want to grind you to a pulp, but maybe not so much the eating part.
Ogres are from many fantasy stories, but these in particular are from the Dragon Age series. With incredible strength and stamina and massive horns, fangs, and a bloodlust for violence, these monsters won't stop until everyone around them is a blood smear on the ground. They're also not too happy about this rainfall either, so be careful not to slip in the puddles as you run away from them!
Once you've splashed around a bit, feel free to run off into the stormy abyss of our islands. You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers September 10th-13th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

Well, uh, y-yeah... See, okay, the Null are robots, but they're so much more than that? Like, way, way different from you.
[He is noting the wings and backing up accordingly. This is both a dream come true and a terrible nightmare, as most of Newt's realized dreams tend to be.]
They're an AI hivemind. They pop up on the network from time to time. They mostly exist there, I think, and then they use these bodies for interacting with stuff in the real world.
[He waves a hand at the Null scrap piled along the wall.]
The bodies can, like, shapeshift? It makes them difficult to fight, but it's really awesome to watch. It's all your basic stainless steel, but somehow it moves like it's organic. I've never seen anything like it before.
[The panic over Starscream's presence has started to give way under the crushing weight of Newt's enthusiasm for all things scientifically cool, which the Null decidedly are. Even if they're assholes.]

Just like insecticons, it figures such mindless brutes would share a similar trait with these Null.
[ And then he laughs as he actually transforms his arm into his laser gun. Which he'll point at the Newt for a second before it transforms back into his clawed hand. It sounds like he has a bunch of copy cats to deal with on this planet. ]
You mean like this? Please. That's nothing compared to Cybertronian technology and our own bio mechanisms. If that's all they have to offer then I'm rather disappointed. [ Here he thought he was going to have to deal with new robotic technology. But it seems like that's not the case. ]

I don't know what th—
[HM THAT SURE IS A LASER GUN IN HIS FACE. Newt wheels backward, but then the gun is gone, and it's back to being a hand, and holy crap. This robot can transform too!
It's enough to wash away the majority of Newt's fear. He scurries over to take a closer look.]
Oh my god! That was awesome! Seamless! Let me see your arm! Can you do this with other parts of you, or just—did you say bio mechanisms? Oh my god.
[He's like a kid on Christmas.]

Not so close, human! [ He's had a rough time with your kind and being examined. There's no telling what sort of weird and heinous things Newt might be up to. But also he might raise his wings behind him a little. ]
Of course I can. These wings aren't just for show.

Luckily, he does stop short when Starscream yells at him to keep his distance. Man, what's up with all the cool species in Hadriel not wanting Newt to get a good look at them? It's not like he means them any harm. He'd be flattered if someone wanted to examine him for science.]
Wings? Wait, so you can fly?
[It shouldn't be as miraculous as it sounds, really. Plenty of machines can fly. But this guy? He doesn't exactly look aerodynamic. Newt would love to see those wings in action.]
What, uh, what else can you do?
[If he's forced to exmaine you from a distance, he's going to ask a million questions!!]
no subject
[ Says this while always keeping an eye on Newt. After his last encounter with losing his own t-cog he doesn't really trust humans unless they keep their distance. ]
no subject
[He's just gonna gloss right over those words like "infiltrate" and "disguise" which sound awfully sinister.]
T-cog... Is that short for something? How does it function?
no subject
You humans really are full of yourselves. I am from Cybertron which is definitely no Earth. But I have spent time on that planet before arriving here. The t-cog, or transformation cog, acts as a scanner for us to copy and take...shall we say, a blueprint of any vehicle of our choosing.
[ It should be obvious what that means. Newt's smart he can figure it out, right? ]
