Kaiba is standing in the middle of the living room when Atem arrives. He'd had several weeks with the knowledge that his brother was gone. Even though logically he knew that Atem wouldn't lie to him about something like that and that it was backed up by Caedra's mirror, not seeing it for himself kept him from fully believing it. Now with the evidence clearly in front of him, it was like the initial blow all over again.
He'd been at the apartment for a little over an hour. It was obvious that no one had been there for weeks. Dust everywhere, nothing to suggest anything had moved in almost the month he'd been gone. He'd exploded in anger already on the boat, now he's just tired.
He turns his head to the side to look at Atem in the doorway. He's not ready to either invite him in or turn him away. A slight narrowing of his eyes is the only greeting, as if daring Atem to say anything like 'I told you'.
