[ Taako, reaching past the fourth wall to desperately rifle through his own stats and see his odds of either bluffing out of this or casting Blink: uhhhh yeah dude it sucks lmao.

It does, like. Work. Is the thing. At least for the moment. The time frame especially sets the last nail in the distraction coffin.

That surge of relief, of happiness to find a familiar face, is already leeching away like heat through a cracked window. Objectively speaking, however unpleasant it is to admit, the best outcome would have been never seeing Taako again, ever. They said the portal was ready, he took it, he was supposed to be in his own galaxy to handle the rest of that unfinished business. That was the only consolation to taking that step, the only knowledge that made it possible to steel himself and... leave behind a life.

He had a life in the Quarantine. It started to feel more like home than home, from the people he met to having somewhere to go at the end of the day at all.

Finn is a little bit miffed, quite frankly. He's upset on his own behalf. He's upset on Taako's. And anyone who ever got told they were going where they were meant to go, only to possibly wind up jettisoned literally anywhere else.

He did a year already! It felt like ten years sometimes! Taako did a year and then some already! This is dumb and bad and it just drags out the infinitesimal crawl back to a war that he knows he has to help finish.

A year and a half. What the fuck. ]

Is there something wrong with people with portals that makes them think everybody else doesn't have more important things to do? Because I'm getting pretty sick of this!
