Those fireflies have really helped him expand his emotional spectrum from "shouting" to "a whole lot of other emotions besides shouting, which is not technically an emotion but is when Krieg does it".

He pulls himself together magnificently, considering how taken aback he is to be treated so unquestionably nicely by someone who isn't a teammate and friend he's killed for.
