"This is my cape, actually," he murmurs, a face apparently important enough to warrant correction. "But his enchantment. The potential for enchanting is practically limitless, but the art itself, and to perform it well, is indeed difficult."
He lets Glacius work on the firepit, fumbling with the claws still attached to his cloak. "It is tradition for members of the family to present gifts to those who have completed their rite of passage. Though I... did not technically complete mine, Uncle Benistad thought it best I have something to help protect myself when they were away. I suspect this was not his first choice for a gift, but he felt it a better fit than anything else."
