"I understand customary exchanges... appreciate them, even. But I also think that every person's needs and tastes are different. I know that you probably wanted to fit in with what was customary for the rest of your lineage, but I do not think it is a bad thing that your uncle knew and cared for you enough to give you something that better suited your needs. Not every person can or want to conform... and that sort of rigidity can sometimes do more harm than good. Better to get something you can actually use and stand out a bit, than to receive something that would only get you into trouble for conformity's sake. No?"
