Allowing Glacius to pull him closer, Carlisle nestles against the side of his cloak that rests against his partner, grateful for its warmth while wishing it were not a (however necessary due to the temperature) barrier between them.

"I believe so," he replies. "How long ago that seems now, that you had to come rescue me because I could not will myself to walk through the streets of the city. I feared that I would be swallowed whole by the buildings looming above us. Then you took me onto the water, where I was sure I would be dragged into the unfathomable depths, were it not for your presence."
