[The last thing he sees in the dream is Gansey's face, looking at that other Adam - at Death - and the loneliness and fear in his eyes. It's a nightmare, and waking from it is a relief. He knows it wasn't real, he knows they're both safe, but his chest tightens anyway. Fear dries his throat. He's frozen for a long moment, some part of him afraid that moving might make it real.
But he has to move. He has to, at least, check on Gansey. He knows Gansey is fine, he knows these dreams can't kill them, can't even hurt them, but - but what if they could. Back home, Ronan's dreams almost killed him. How can he be sure that something like that won't happen here?
So he's up and heading to the door before he can think about it. Before he can second-guess himself, or remember that Gansey almost certainly doesn't want to see his face right now. He at least remembers to try to be quiet. The house is full, Ronan is right next door and hardly sleeps, and Adam doesn't want anyone else to wake up because of this. He goes out to the living room, leaving his door open behind him.]
Gansey?
[His voice is soft, almost a whisper. Gansey could be asleep. It's not impossible.]
