Ronan doesn't let himself flinch at the dream's mockery, instead just watching him, not even breaking to look at Noah when he speaks. Ronan's eyes are intense and dark and when Whelk moves to bring up the skateboard, he surges forward to try and knock him aside.

The dream distorts and stretches, leaving Ronan further back than he should be. Whelk is right there, but he can't get to him in time, no matter how much ground he crosses, Whelk is still there, still holding the skateboard, and Noah is still looking right at him and watching it happen.
