World Log: Jungle Arrival

Who: Everyone in the city
What: The event log for the Planet Transfer
Where: All over the city
When: March 28th
Warnings: None

One minute you're freezing your ass off in the middle of a light snowstorm, and the next you're suddenly boiling in the wet heat. Sunlight streams down through green- so much green, more green than you could possibly have imagined since coming to Hadriel- and it's beautiful in its own way, if you're into that sort of thing.

The more sensitive of citizens may feel some slight nausea from the move but otherwise everything is as it should be. Alien birds squawk in the trees, you can hear the local fauna rustling through the brilliantly-colored leaves. Everything is alien here, but a forest is universal. Luckily, a section of forest has been cleared away for the city, so you can still see the sky above and you can still move around without getting lost in the thick foliage that surrounds this place, but be careful when exploring! There's no telling what could be out there, and you want to be prepared for anything.

So what is your new home like? It's hot, for one- you might want to shed and burn all those winter coats and Christmas sweaters immediately! You'll be sweating buckets before the day is over, but at least we still have cold showers to help wash off the grime as you adjust to your new life in an alien jungle. Have fun, enjoy your stay, but don't forget: we may need to fight here soon. Be ready.

► This log covers March 28th-March 30th.

(Oh what a welcome voice! Sansa is trying to be brave, trying to hold it together, but the Seven and the Old Gods know she is shaken inside. These shifts from world to world are unnerving!)

Lady Maria! (She ignores their surroundings and runs to the other woman, wrapping her in a welcoming embrace.) How can you be so calm? I wish I had your strength.

(She moves back and draws her sword, mimicking Maria's motion, using her relatively new muscles to slice through the foliage.)

We have been on our own more oft than not, my lady. I would appreciate some shade.

[ It was good to see Sansa too. Maria hadn't realized how attached she had grown, it was something she wasn't used to, not yet anyway.

She smiled a little, just for a moment as she was embraced. Gently returning the gesture and enjoying the once more the contact. ]

Years of discipline under Queen Annalise, then in Beast Hunter Gerhman's service. Though, do not sell yourself short, Sansa. You're stronger than you seem.

[ Turning back to look at her as she cut a narrow path for them into the small clearing. Maria noticed the way in which Sansa struck the vines and foliage, she could do with some more training but it wasn't her place to say. ]

Over yonder, see?

[ Pointing with the tip of her blade, standing aside so Sansa could walk on ahead of her. Maria followed close behind, she didn't need the shade as much, though she struggled with daylight, something she'd not dwelled in for the Gods know how long! ]

I was worried about you. Before the shift and then again after. I met your brother, hunted with him. Does he fare well too?

(The Elvish sword isn't exactly suited to a jungle, but if she should find herself in a duel, she is not incapable of defending herself. Despite her lady-like nature, Sansa does share the talent and flexibility of her siblings when it comes to the sword. She just doesn't like it as much as they do/did.

Maria is real - not some figment of her rattled imagination. She is so grateful and she turns her face against the woman's neck for a moment as they embrace.)

I have worked on myself for several years now. I can duel, but I much prefer to be safe at home.

(The plants are peculiar and she wonders which can be used for herbal remedies.)

Mm? (She follows the direction of the blade and smiles.) Jon can protect himself; I try not to worry about him.

(Sansa makes her way forward, her braid swinging against her back.)

When I stop and consider all that has happened, I feel like I am having a fever dream. I expect to wake at any moment, but there is a part of me that doesn't wish to leave this dream yet.
