Welcome to Hadriel. You're a new arrival... or maybe you're not. Maybe this is all very familiar, and you're already rolling your eyes at ending up here again. In that case, welcome back! And if you're new, welcome! Your welcoming committee today is a bunch of creepy floating Shugguraths. Some of them spit acid, some of them can shock you with electricity, and some can freeze you. What we definitely know for sure is that none of them like you, so you better start running - or maybe try to shoot one down. Let's hope you've got help, because that's not going to be easy to do alone!
Or you can grab one of the weapons off the floor of the colosseum and just go for it. That'll work great for about five seconds, before you realize that all the weapons are in fact fun toys for kids to play with, and not entirely suitable for killing big floating monsters. But hey, at least you tried!
Once you've finished indulging your 90's nostalgia, feel free to look around. You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers April 10th-12th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

Lifting a hand, he rubs at his eyes, turns his head a bit, green eyes wide and a little wild, looking back toward the monsters before looking at the guy again. The guy who looks him straight in the eyes, with that serious expression that says he gets the situation they're in, knows what he's doing, and takes it seriously.
So basically the opposite of Klaus. Blessedly the opposite.
Trying to get his feet under him, Klaus pushes a hand against the ground to get himself upright, shaky on his feet but trying to move as best he can.
"Okay...okay yeah, okay...running, I can do that."

Finn keeps a hand on his elbow for a moment, just to make sure staying upright is officially part of the plan here, then gets them right on going in the nearest exit-shaped path.
"Every door leads out, okay? If one of these things gets in the way, it's fine to change directions. Don't stop to think. Just keep moving."

"Every door leads out, don't think just keep moving. Got it. Got it..."
An exhalation, and he rests shaky hands on his own knees, panting slightly as he flicks his eyes around, marking each of the exits in his memory.
"Okay okay okay..." A pause, and then, "What's your name? Just in case we get separated? I'm Klaus."

Would it have done exactly that a couple of times if not for the direct intervention of another person or weird event? Sure. But this, at least, is relatively straightforward.
"Finn. Good to meet you, Klaus. Sorry you're here." They should print out welcome pamphlets that say that. "Count of three work for you?"
Well, either the count of three or the count of 'a tentacle gets way too close to murdering them and somebody yells THREE very loudly'. Both are basically the same thing.

Breathless and a little shaky, but genuine. Because his life is insane, his life has been completely crazy for a really long time and he really shouldn't be surprised about this whole lovely turn of events.
"Okay, yep. Three."
And Finn counts, Klaus spends the few seconds getting his bearings and his balance, and then he shoots off along with the other man. He's uncoordinated as always, he trips over his own feet, his arms flail, he tries not to fall over any debris or slip in any puddles of he-doesn't-want-to-know-what and slaps his hand down in the dirt to keep himself from falling on his face.
By the time he's out the exit, a few steps behind Finn, he's panting for breath, shaking all over, hands trembling and he leans against the outside wall, sliding down it with his knees bent and puts his face in his hands.
"Thanks."
Muffled, but coherent.

Not like there are a ton of highlights going around otherwise.
"No problem." He hesitates for a second, then sits himself down in the Klaus vicinity against the outside wall. Not too close. Not strictly outside of the personal bubble zone, probably. That's still one of his works in progress. What if he just hovers over this new arrival like a mother hen. Sounds fine to him. "I know it's not the best way to turn up somewhere. Bottom of my list. Personally."

"One day at a time." He murmurs to himself, trying to ignore the bugs under the skin crawling sensation in his forearms and neck, finally lifting his head and glancing over at Finn. The slight intrusion into his personal bubble isn't a big deal - Klaus has only the very vaguest of concepts of personal space - in fact, it's kind of nice.
"Yeah, you're not kidding there. Fuck."
Tilting his head back, he inhales deeply, holds his breath, then exhales.
"Thanks though, thanks...yeah. I probably woulda died out there."
