What: The event log for the Null Attack event

What starts as a normal day will begin to herald in the beginning of the end. On May 29th, you might see something in the sky out of the corner of your eye- blink and you miss it, but there's definitely something there, something that's not any kind of animal you've ever seen. Now that you know to look, you may be paying closer attention to the sky in order to catch the next one that flies past- a ship. A ship that that seems to be designed in a way that might remind you of the Null themselves.
As the days pass, it becomes unmistakable- the Null are here and are scouting out the area. It's time to prepare for an immediate attack and start putting all those contingency plans to good use. Will you gear up for a fight and fall into formation? Will you close and lock your doors and stay inside? Or perhaps there's some other plan that you want to enact?
You'll have time to discuss that on the network later, but now you need to start reacting to the Null's actions- which are apparently to start building smaller encampments around the city as they try to find the way inside. Confusion is holding them at bay for now but it might be time to start building some defensive measures and fortifications, because she won't be able to keep them at bay forever.
When they break in, they do so in a big way- with a massive explosion at Confusion's temple that rattles throughout the entire city. It's obvious that something has happened- and what exactly that something is reveals itself shortly when Null begin to flood the city, having broken through Confusion's protection.
This is when the fight escalates to an all-out war. Nobody is spared, and they're watching everyone from above. What will you do? How will you keep the ones you love safe? How can anyone survive this? All you can do is fight back, all we can do is wait. Good luck, Hadriel.► This log covers the entirety of the Null attack

she crosses over to him and the Null webbed to the tree and sinks into a gracious curtsy.
only to rise with her sword aimed straight at where the Null's processor ought to be. her sword cuts through it like a hot knife through butter and she twists the blade to be sure before withdrawing it]
Why, thank you! After two weeks of facing the things before, I ought to hope so! Really, now, you'd think that they've never met me. Or perhaps I, too, have evolved? And I must say, you're doing quite well yourself!

Not seeing any more Null in the immediate area, Peter drops down from the tree and takes a quick break to swap out an empty web cartridge for a new one.]
Thanks! This isn't quite as bad as I was expecting it to be, so far at least. Spiders and jungles just kinda work together, y'know?

she smiles brightly at him, as though they were about to sit to tea rather than being in the middle of a war zone. but truth be told, she loves this. the adrenaline rush, the feeling that with every Null destroyed, she's protecting someone else. small wonder that she plans to join her beloved in his nocturnal vigilante activities once they're reunited]
For all their power, the Null are terribly predictable in my experience. They seem to have little mind for tactics. [and she laughs gaily at his comment about spiders and jungles] I shall have to take your word for it as the Spider I'm most accustomed to dealt in secrets rather than outright destruction.
no subject
I'm okay with that. If they wanna keep walking into my traps and stuff, more power to 'em. You'll have to tell me about your Spider dude once we get out of this.
[Not that he fully expects to, but hey. gotta stay optimistic.]
no subject
They will. For a time. Then, they'll learn to adapt and one must come up with even better tricks to fell them. [she shakes her head with a faintly bemused expression on her face] And I shall! Varys was quite an interesting fellow. A tremendous amount of history behind him.
[but who in Westeros doesn't, these days?]

Peter busies himself with setting a few more traps, shifting around some foliage to cover them up a bit. They should be easy enough to spot for people to avoid them, but thankfully the Null are dumb as hell. So far, anyway.]
I'm sure I've got a few more tricks up my sleeve. I just have to... y'know, make 'em up. I'm just winging it out here, but so far it seems to be working out.
no subject
she watches him set up the traps curiously. they're quite a wonder! it's too bad they didn't have such things during the first Null invasion.
and she laughs brightly] We're all "winging it," I think. I've climbed up and thrown myself down from at least seven trees so far to attack them from behind. Eventually, the wretches will catch on to both of our tricks and so we'll have to come up with new ones.
no subject
You're climbing trees in that dress? And I thought I was good at climbing. You're right, though. We're gonna have to start getting creative here soon.
no subject
Indeed I am! It's not so bad, once you get used to it. Besides, it's not as though I have to worry about people peeking up my dress. There's no time for that. And what if I serve as the bait to your traps?
no subject
[She can't see it because of his mask, but he frowns at the idea of using her as bait. It's not a horrible idea though, and they could use any leg up over the Null that they could get. Rather than protesting, he thinks it over for a moment.]
That... might work. I can stay hidden in the trees and ambush them, too. With you distracting them, we could probably pick off a bunch that way.
no subject
[while she looks completely blase about the prospect of being used as bait. she's survived everything the Null threw at her before and that was when she was completely on her own. now she'll have company!]
Yes, it would work tremendously well! What should I do to attract them? I could scream very loudly, that would get their attention.
no subject
Nah, there's still long dresses, and you could always take pants for a spin. But anyway, screaming might work? They don't seem too bright, so they might not make the connection between loud screaming and getting ambushed right away.

Pants? As in trousers that men wear? I could never! And the Null are quick to attack anyone who might seem vulnerable. For the trap to work the best, I should stay on the ground here after I scream. You should hide in that tree right there. [she points to one nearby] And I'll scream. [she takes a deep breath---
