It's time. There's a plan that needs to be put into motion, and you're the ones who volunteered to do it. You know going in that it's going to be dangerous - but there's no other choice. This is the end, and it's you or the Null.
Upon arrival, you have a little time to prepare. The Null don't know you're there at first, and once they do there's a delay of a few hours before they're in position to fight back. Now's the time to set up defenses or anything else that might help you stay alive. You have to know the fight will be hard, because they know their lives are on the line, too.
Then, the Null attack. With everything they have, they try to stop you, try to beat past your defenses to get to [Name] and stop it from uploading the killswitch. Fear helps out, and the sky goes dark, but it won't last forever. When Fear flees, that particular defense is gone... along with any chance of getting out of there. Here's where those without courage might break, because it certainly looks like it could be a last stand. It doesn't help that Hope can't reach you here either, that any deaths will not be resurrected during the battle.
But it does end. With very little warning, [Name] completes its task. It goes dark, and as it does, the other Null see their end coming. They cannot stop it, they cannot escape. They crumple to the ground, all consciousness and animation gone from them.
And then you're alone on the ice planet. Tend your wounds, mourn your dead, and hope that someone will come for you before the cold does.► This log covers June 15th
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► As this log takes place away from Hope's influence, any deaths will not be resurrected until people and gods are able to travel to the ice planet again. Have fun!

I got people killed. Following me to, t-to do something I couldn't and...
[Alphys presses the little chassis of [Name] further into her chest.]
They deserved better. They deserves to live and I promised them and...
[Her voice trails off, raw and strained, into a choked nothingness.]
no subject
It's not your fault. They did what they did because they wanted to.
[she leans in closer and spreads the cloak to fully cover [Name]]
Maybe--maybe when the aliens come to take us back, something can be done?
[she pulls a monogrammed handkerchief out of one of her pouches and offers it to Alphys]
no subject
Alphys takes the handkerchief, but instead of using it to wipe her own face, she cleans the dirt from [Name]'s face, along with where her tears have fallen.]
I... told Hope. About them, b-before we left. He said there was nothing he could do.
[At least the others might be okay. Mettaton has to be. The alternative is too much to bear.]
I'm sorry. I tried.

[Name] sacrificed themself to save everyone at Hadriel. in her opinion, [Name] deserves to be treated as a hero]
Oh. Oh no. Really? Did he say why he couldn't do anything?
[and Pratt. he has to live again or she doesn't know what she'll do]
no subject
He said that, uhm, Null consciousness was stored in these servers. They couldn't upload a code to modify all Null and not, uhm, n-not modify themselves. Souls and Null, they're... not the same.
[She should get up. She can feel the chill slipping into her past the panic, the way her body can't regulate her temperature from her surroundings and that she needs to find somewhere warm. But everything already feels so wrung out, it just feels... pointless. Painful. Maybe she deserves to die here too, for the job she didn't finish.]
I don't know about everyone else, I just... I can't think about what it'll be if, uhm. If they can't. I'm not... strong enough, to. To think about that yet. I'm sorry.
no subject
And [Name] knew this and helped anyway?
[Tinya's cloak is covering Alphys, too, so maybe that should help with the cold? and Tinya leans in close, close enough for her own body heat to be felt, but not so close that it feels like crowding. and Alphys definitely doesn't deserve to die. she's a good person who tries her best at everything she does. what happened today, it isn't her fault]
The aliens, they'll bring us back. [a forced laugh] Might not be as fast as we want, but it'll happen.
no subject
I guess a-all we can do is hope, right?
[She has to get up. She has to move. The whole thing is just so hard.]
I'm sorry. I'm sorry that you're tired and I still need help. I... it's hard. It's all hard.
no subject
Right. Hope. [a pause] Do you want my cloak?
[if she gets up, Tinya will accompany her. and it's very hard, not knowing if the aliens will come back and get them or leave them stranded here]
There's nothing to apologize for. And I'm happy to help in any way I can. [she squeezes Alphys' shoulder]
no subject
[She's trying to get up, at least. Just a shift to her legs under her body. It's some kind of movement, after all.]
But, uh... thank you. I don't really have much else to say, but, I... thank you.
[She'll carry [Name] with her, though. She won't abandon them anymore.]
no subject
[since she's not actually standing up yet, Tinya will remain in place on the ground.
she smiles gently] You don't have to thank me. [a pause] Do you want a hug?
[[Name] deserves a proper remembrance service, of whatever type Alphys feels is best]
no subject
Yeah. If it's not, uhm. T-Too much trouble.
[It'll be okay, but it doesn't feel like that now. Maybe, soon enough, it will.]
no subject
It's never too much trouble. Especially not for you.
[and she continues to hold Alphys gently in her arms]
no subject
Thank you. T-Thank you so much. Let's... we can...
[She tilts her head in the direction of others.]
Help bring me over there?
[It'll be okay eventually. At least she's not alone.]
no subject
gently] You don't need to thank me.
[she looks over at them. Pratt's body is over there. she'd been avoiding that area because of it, but. if that's where Alphys needs to be, she can swallow her own pain for now]
I will. I'm going to pick you up now, if that's okay?
[she's definitely not alone]
wrapped I think ;O;
So she just nods, lets herself be moved. She'll be back, hopefully. They all will.]
Okay. P-Please.
[They'll make it yet.]
probably, but. /CLINGS ;;
she gently picks Alphys up and holds her so Alphys can rest her head on Tinya's shoulder]
All right. [she pats Alphys' back gently as she starts to carry her over to the others]
It'll be all right. I promise.
