Glacius blinks, surprised by Cecily's blunt assessment of her own people--he can't imagine saying that about his own, given the intense loyalty he has to them. Was humanity usually that terrible to each other and those around them that this was a common perception? Or had she simply suffered in her past, been exposed to great cruelty just like he was...?
Well, it's certainly not his place to ask that. The ice alien hates to seem like he's attempting to be nosy, and such a question is far too personal for a first proper meeting. Mutually bemoaning the gods, on the other hand-- now that seems like some good common ground to stand on.
"I am of a similar mindset. They claim that they are not responsible for bringing us here, and that they are attempting to find a way to send us home. But if that was truly their goal, they would not have to resort to such abhorrent methods. Their attempts... they cause pain, suffering, and torment, all just in the name of garnering power! It is awful." He doesn't understand how some people can feel grateful to them, just for providing basic living necessities in what is a glorified prison.
At least Cecily manages to put the conversation back on a more pleasant track. The ice alien straightens as well, his frustration ebbing away, replaced with a tentative smile. "I am glad, as well. My mind feels... lighter now, knowing that you have your forgiveness. And you needn't blame yourself for needing time; what happened was awful, and I respect other's need of space. As for thanking me, well... I feel like it should be the other way around. You are the gracious one, to pardon me for what happened and do what you could. You clearly have a good heart. If you need anything, do not hesitate to contact me; you have one of those little... personal communication devices, yes?"
