Selfishness in human beings is hardly a new and exciting concept to Rey. She had seen plenty of it among all sides of humanity during her long life. That isn't surprising.

Also not surprising is the fact that people would rather Nick be dead, considering everything he's told her about the world he comes from (and Rey's own conceptions regarding what he is for some time).
