There's only instead a mild concern, maybe, as she carries too much and is too headstrong to ask for help from those around. She also doubts she looks all that great but appearances have never been important to Rose and she certainly wasn't going to start worrying about that now. There's so many bigger things to worry about, really, though she's trying not to worry about any of those either.
This isn't her Dean. There have been so many iterations of the same people that came through her life like a revolving door the past two years. She learned to stop being upset by it but instead embrace the new ones just as she had the 'originals' and hope that maybe they could fill the same holes the ones before had left. It never really worked, but. Of course she never stopped trying.
So she greets this new Dean with a smile. The question strikes her as funny even though perhaps it shouldn't.
