Warnings: Visitors from other worlds!
What: Part one of the fourth wall event, hosted by Fear, Confusion, and Delight!

Warnings: Visitors from other worlds!
If you're not from around here, you may be wondering what's going on. You've woken up out of the blue in the colosseum, or near a temple, or in one of the numerous other locations in the city. You're somewhere underground and it's dark, cold, and maybe a little unnerving.
Luckily, shortly after your arrival, the road below your feet begins to light up in a gentle, warm glow. The light points you in a set direction and, if you choose to travel that way, will lead you toward the center of the city, where there is a large gathering of others who are lost here like you, people who might know their way around a bit more, and even some of the gods who rule this place.
There are lights strung up on poles throughout the large clearing, casting a comforting glow onto the tables beneath them. The tables are abundant with lots of food that looks simply delicious- though, none of it tastes quite like it should. The tarts taste like green beans, the mashed potatoes like cheesecake, and the chocolate seems oddly reminiscent of steak. In addition, there are decorations artfully placed around the meeting point. If you see them moving, don't worry- that's probably just your imagination.
Also distributed along the tables are shot glasses, filled with a sludgy, yellow substance. If you're brave enough to consume them, they taste strongly of mint and will give you a much needed energy boost, circumventing the need to eat or sleep for a full 24 hours! After that, however, everything hits you all at once, so use them wisely. Some of you may remember these shots from our How Delightful event earlier this year!
In addition to all of the above, there are also party poppers strewn around the area. Each popper can jet out some strange objects- glitter bombs, seashells, plastic dinosaurs, maybe a live lizard or two- so be careful! Feel free to use your discretion on these, but remember to keep it small!
_
Of course, you can always not travel that way. The rest of the city has plenty of places to explore- maybe you'd like to stumble in our Silent Hill zone, have a quick look around the alien orchard, or check out any of the god temples that can inspire their chosen emotion. Be careful not to get lost in the tunnels leading away from the cave- none of them can actually move you above ground, but you may run into a few monsters on the way.
For those of you who have been with us awhile, please bear with the gods while they try to adjust around these new folks! Join in on the festivities if you like, or try to orient as many of the others as you can. Start a community outreach program, start a fight club, introduce your parents to your weird cave girlfriend- nobody's judging!
Well. Some of us might be.
_
Enjoy the fourth wall event at Hadriel! Once you're settled in feel free to explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies.
Fourth wall characters do not enter with phones so they cannot reach the network- however, if you'd like to handwave that they somehow got ahold of Mello's Newcomer guide to avoid the 'where am I/what is this' sort of questions, then feel free!
Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers October 24th-November 1st.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well! Fourth wall characters will not have posting access, so grab an in-game friend if you wanted to do anything separate from the main log.
► Fourth wall characters will be in the city for at least one week, though they can stay for longer. The party will go on throughout the entire week, thanks to Delight's boundless energy!
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
omg sorry /)_(\
[she nods, though, grabbing maketh's hand to stabilize herself. (it's just as she remembered.) shakily, she stands with her.]
Lead the way?
:3
[Maketh allows herself one indulgence before shifting back into business mode. She presses her forehead against Lilith's for a moment - just a single moment - so she won't forget what it feels like.]
Yes, I--this way. I've moved. Can you walk?
is a timeskip to maketh's place ok??? c:
What a bizarre feeling: to remember to miss someone. She savors the moment, too, committing Maketh's voice and the very feel of her, to memory. Screw the gods, screw the door. She's not forgetting a second time.]
Mm. My legs are kind of jelly, so we'll have to go slower. Sorry.
sure!
Maketh squeezes Lilith's arm briefly.]
I--I could make you coffee? Or something to eat?
<3
[She falls silent. The smile fades.]
I guess you've got questions for me, though. There's-- there's a lot to talk about.

She steps back, rubbing her face. This moment feels impossible and Lilith looks--different. Older, somehow.]
Yes, I--suppose there is.
[Maketh clears her throat.]
It's been more--more time, for you, hasn't it?
no subject
How broad. More time. How many faces she knew are gone, now? How long has New Haven lay in ruin?
When she was last in Hadriel, she didn't know of Handsome Jack, knew of Hyperion as nothing more than a weapons dealer. That's all changed, now, that innocent past gone so far out the window it's almost completely out of sight.]
Five years. Everything went to hell when the Door sent me back.
[god, she's tired. Lilith exhales, as if breathing out the very weight of those five years.]
And... I didn't remember Hadriel until the moment I woke up here again.
no subject
[Maketh swallows down the question. Of course she knows for certain. Too many things can happen in a year, let alone five. And there's a heaviness behind Lilith's statement that time alone couldn't justify. No, there's been more.
There tends to be. Maketh rubs her face again, trying to think of something to say. The coffee seems less important now.
She sits down next to Lilith with a sigh. Forgetting Hadriel means that Lilith forgot her as well. It stings, but not as much as it could. At least Maketh has her back. Right here, right now, she has Lilith at her side.]
I missed you. Stars, I missed you so much.
[Maketh admits this quietly. It hasn't been years for her.]
no subject
How could she have just forgotten her? Something, someone who was so warm and real, gone in an instant. Lilith, as far as she'd known those five years ago, had simply returned to her normal life as a Vault Hunter-- until it'd been disrupted, of course-- as if Hadriel were some distant dream.
Maybe it's a blessing that she didn't remember. Of all those things she lost... adding Maketh to the list might've just been unbearable. But Lilith can't say what those five years would've been like otherwise: not really.
She turns her head at last, fingers sneaking their way to Maketh's and weaving through them. They're here again. They're here together.]
I missed you too.
[Five years of missing her, packed tightly into mere minutes. She doesn't know how... but she knows it's the truth.]
no subject
[Maketh presses her head against Lilith's, closing her eyes.]
I found these flowers in Sorrow's garden. Sunflowers. They're--ridiculous, and beautiful. I thought you might--I thought it would be appropriate.
no subject
Those sound perfect. Sorry the Door yanked me out before you could give them to me.
[She sighs, contented. Everything's coming back so easily. Like muscle memory. Her thumb traces the back of Maketh's hand, fingers playing with hers.]
No time like the present to check the garden out again, though...? M-maybe not the immediate present. [She squeezes her hand.] But you know what I mean.
[For all they know, she's on borrowed time being back.]
no subject
[Once more. They can hold hands and exist in the same space and there's no madness to tear them apart. For this moment, they're together.]
