INTRO LOG: A TAXING JOURNEY

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for December. Watch your step!
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: December 10th-17th
Warnings: Taxxon-related violence, teeth shoes, general unpleasantness, mass confusion.

You wake up in the dust of the colosseum with no shoes on, regardless of the state of your feet when you arrived. There's dust covering your clothing and in your hair, but other than that, there's no signs of injury or bruising. You're also not alone- nearby, there are others, either still passed out or just waking up like you are. Feel free to take solace in that fact. Or don't- some of you aren't human, and are clearly not great people either. No offense.

To your left, there is a door in the wall of the arena, supposedly leading to the halls which will then show you to your freedom. To your right, and scattered haphazardly on the ground, are a myriad of teeth shoes. These shoes might be better than going barefoot right now, but good luck finding a matching set, let alone one that fits you.

When you do eventually try to escape, be careful. The halls are crawling with Taxxons. Large and grotesque, these caterpillar-like creatures have circular mouths and multiple rows of sharp teeth. Their sense of smell is impeccable, and they will stop at nothing to feed when they scent blood. So, you know, try to avoid stepping on anything sharp on your way out.

All done with the horrible monsters and awkward greetings? Try your hand at exploring the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies until your little heart is content. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

Jinbee is the type of person who is not afraid of getting into a fight; his father taught him to always expect one, that way people trying to launch a surprise attack won't catch him off guard. And he's used to fighting big insects, so the hand on the hilt to his katana is ready to attack the monsters lurking in the unknown without hesitation.

Now he turns to the other boy, and nods. "Not to worry!" He might be a little loud, it's a fault of his. "I am capable with the blade!"

Loud, Amos can handle. Armed with a sword, even better. Amos nods a little; younger than he is, but the way his hand rests on that sword...yeah. He'll probably be alright. "They're big, whatever they are. Some kind of monster," he supplies, and that's about as much as he can give, because he hasn't actually laid eyes on the monsters.

But he can hear them, and that's more than enough when it's a large hungry predator. Hungry enough Amos is sure size nor weaponry will be a deterrent, and he's only got a few small knives....and one gun, but he doesn't want to use a gun in a cavern, where the sound might attract more danger than he's got bullets for.

"They don't sound as big as some I have fought!" He's fought insects bigger than houses in the past. Not always alone, perhaps, but the experience helps. As long as it's not insect men, he's sure that he will be fine. But even if it's insect men, he's never giving up. He will fight and fight even after he's dead, never giving up as long as there are people to protect.

Excellent to hear, and Amos smiles a little at the enthusiasm. He can't help it; there's just something about people who live life full-force that Amos really likes, and this kid's definitely one of those.

"Well, then, good luck, Mister Warrior. I'll wait here for a bit."

He has no idea. Jinbee is the most full-force person in the Insect Magistrate, and it causes his comrades a lot of annoyance and amusement.

"Leave it to me!" He thumps himself in the chest, and then rushes off. Give him a couple minutes; this is bugs he's fighting, he's not going to have much problem with them.
