Glacius doesn't have any time to respond to Carlisle's suggestion, nor does he have any more time to try and refrain from combat that could result in causing his friend pain or injury. The abomination rushes them with a shriek and he knows that if he holds back any longer, more people will get hurt--including the clergyman, who has stood by him and looked out for him on more than one occasion. Once again his hand has been forced into detestable conflict; the knowledge is enough to push a bellow of challenge from the otherworldly being's gills, one wrought with frustration and bitterness.
Fear, however, is nowhere to be found in the alien. As the abomination charges them both, Glacius does not waver--he stands firmly between it and Carlisle, ready to defend the man at any cost. With a simple gesture of his hand, a beam of light shoots up from the ground in front of the charging demon; if it does not divert its course or back away, it will find one of its leg impaled on the massive spear of ice that erupts from the earth a second later--and then struck again and again by repeated shatters as the ice alien unleashes the full and awesome brunt of his ranged offense.
