[Kain is hanging out on top of Spire One, staring off into the distance when he notices something amiss. This is always a good vantage point to keep an eye on things, and he often comes here regularly while performing guard duty. He gasps on seeing that glowing green portal... thing... appear, with demons already starting to burst out of it. It reminds him far too much of the rift he dealt with in the gods' war, except instead of manikins, these are something else altogether.]
[Leaping downward, Kain lands on the ground and takes off at a run to join the fight.]
Watch out! Behind you!
[Kain shouts as he jumps into the ongoing battle, putting his lance straight through one of the fiery-looking demons, saving someone from getting hit by its flames. The demon is still going, though, and there are plenty more where that came from...]
[Joining Demons] (22nd)
[Somehow, he's gotten himself cornered. It's happened a few times, but Kain is experienced and strong enough to get out of most of these situations. Except this time. This time, a powerful Pride Demon has gotten the better of him. Kain groans as he strikes out at it desperately. But it's not the physical fight getting the better of him... it's the mental one.]
[The demon is inside his head, pushing him, using his own best strength against him and wearing him down. Tempting him. You could be so much stronger, so much more powerful, isn't that what you've always wanted? It doesn't take long until the demon gets the upper hand, a weary Kain relenting and giving in... letting the demon take hold.]
[Now, Kain will attack all allies he comes across without hesitation. If you're in his way, prepare for a fight! No one is safe.]
[Take down] (Closed to Shadow; 25th)
[Something of Kain is still in there, of course, but it's the Pride Demon calling all the shots now. He's driven to attack others, to fight and little else. With the demons' strength adding to his own, he's been a definite threat.]
[Looking for his next target, the demon-possessed dragoon sets his sights on someone else nearby. He may be a small target, but he seems to be a powerful one...]
