( None of this is fair for either of them. Em shouldn't have had to have been here for months, he shouldn't have to be playing catch up. Neither of them, none of them, should be subjected to things Matt had long thought of as only possible in fiction, like demon possessions and coming back to life. These things aren't part of their world and the only thing Matt really wants to worry about is his GPA, in that abstract way a teenager does where they don't really understand the weight of it all.
He doesn't want to worry about this, not about his girlfriend, the fucking demon. Not about her anger at him for being upset at his death, or at the fact he feels she should have known better, by now.
