What: The event log for the Fadeout event!

The morning of November the 15th seems rather normal- that is, if you can avoid the glowing cracks in the fabric of reality tucked away among various streets. Still, they don't really seem to be doing much of anything and you can't quite see through them, so maybe they're decoration? This wouldn't be the first time the gods pulled some weird shit to shake things up around here.
By midafternoon, however, something changes. Cecily, in all her wisdom, decides to attempt to dispel one of these rifts, and the resulting shockwave sends tremors through the city. Tears throughout Hadriel open wider and allow for various demons to burst through and terrorize the various citizens. Demons will be tearing through in all corners of the city, though you can choose to avoid them if you like.
Look out for Pride and Rage demons, who attempt to brute force their way to you and feed off of your anger, steel yourselves against Despair and Fear demons who grow stronger as you give up hope, and definitely cross the street to avoid the Desire demons, who can take either male or female forms and will offer you everything you want if you just let them in.
Demons will either focus on attacking you or tempting you by taking advantage of and feeding off of your basic emotions. Agreeing to let a demon help you and mentally folding to it generally means that the demon will begin to possess you and start calling the shots- often using you as a vessel to hurt others and sow discord. If you happen to have any sort of magical abilities, extended possession can lead toward becoming an abomination after the corruption takes root.
So... you might want to avoid all of that. Luckily, there are some good things happening that can distract you- along with the demons, several nugs and fennec foxes will also pop up around the city, and if you don't want them to die a horrible death to a hungry demon, you might consider adopting them. In addition, you may find a random potion laying around- maybe this can help you fight off those demons, or maybe it'll make every nug in the city love you- or maybe it's secretly a jar of bees. Wouldn't be the first time you guys let bees in jars get a little out of hand.► This log covers November 15th-November 25th.

He hadn't used his blaster in some time so it took him a moment to remember to actually take his gloves off so he could fire his blaster. He didn't like having to do this himself. He wasn't ashamed of the fact that he was a bridge commander and normally there was almost always someone else between him and the enemy. That was how it was supposed to be.
He wrinkled his nose as he lowered the blaster but the expression shifted as he saw a familiar alien. He knew Kylo Ren could stop a blaster shot in mid-air and he wondered if she could do the same. It may be worth testing.
He started to raise the blaster but at that moment it seemed everything erupted in chaos. He had been so focused on taking aim at Ahsoka's head he hadn't seen the demon going for her but the fennec in her arms definitely did. It bolted, deciding to go right for him. He didn't even have time to react before it was practically in his face and in the process of getting away the panicked fennec latched down with sharp teeth right between his thumb and index finger.
Hux normally wasn't one to get worked up enough to start swearing aloud but that bite had hurt. He let out a series of curses and several expletives involving the Emperor as he barely managed to keep hold of the blaster. Blood welled up from the cut, he would have to patch it up later but once he kicked the fennec away, he raised the blaster once more.
If Ahsoka was still standing, he was determined to take her down.]

but the fennec yelps when hux kicks him away and ahsoka uses the momentum from drawing and igniting her lightsabers to turn her head to investigate, wondering if they've gotten themselves trapped by two demons only to find-
are you kriffing kidding her?
the neo-imperialist isn't a distraction she needs right now and she can't help the growl of frustration she lets out as she turns back to the demon in time to deflect the pointed spear of ice it's been aiming at her with a flick of her shoto. a second demon sneaking up behind her might be preferable in this case. ]
Unless you've actually got a single competent bone in that body, you'd better start running.
[ she knows where he's aiming. she knows that she can deflect if he is stupid enough to shoot, too. but she'd really rather not deal with him right now, not with the demon bearing down on her. ]

[He knew that if he shot anywhere near her head or torso she would be able to deflect it easily enough. He had seen enough how Kylo Ren fought and Jedi on old holos from the Republic era had fought to get an idea of their skills. But he had also seen how Jedi could be taken down as well. It was possible.
He didn't have the advantage of having multiple soldiers with him so he would have to be smart. As it stood, he had no doubt that she would have the advantage even if he had more experience with a blaster.]
And if I have anything to say about it, neither will you.
[He lowered the blaster to fire several shots aimed right at her knee and foot. He would do what he had to create advantage for himself even if it was bit by bit.]

the demon is whispering to her, reminding her of her failings, of people she's been unable to save, all the ways she's failed over decades of fighting. these demons always seem to do that, when she fights and when she breaks to rest. but the force is still with her and if she falls into relying on it, at least her body knows where to move, even as being mindful on the present gets harder and harder.
her feet lead her out of the way of hux's first few shots, repositioning to ward off another of the demon's elemental attacks. but she can only do so much at once, with her mind like this and the last of hux's volley of shots skims along the outside of her knee. she lets out a gasp, more surprised than in pain (although there's still some of that too) as she stumbles to one side, barely managing to stay upright. not good. she shakes her head, trying to ignore the pain as she darts forward, around the demon to put it between her and the officer she's come so quickly to despise. its attention may still be on her, reminding her of force sensitive children with uncertain futures and red lightsabers too close to her allies and losing echo and master piell at the citadel.
that's the memory she latches onto, reminded of it to make her mourn but using it to focus her feelings. if she's going to be angry, she might as well be productive about it and every bad feeling she'd had upon meeting tarkin in the citadel. this man had spoken of tarkin, reminded her of him. and she is not letting him or this demon win. ]
Oops! Looks like you've got an obstacle now.
[ and a little more distance between them. he's clearly no marksman. that'll be her next taunt. while she's over here, though, she's busy with the demon, deflecting its attacks while she figures out how to balance on her freshly injured leg, then darting towards it to slice off one outstretched arm. ]

He remembered the last time he had had to fire the blaster, the Resistance operative had been on his knees between two Stormtroopers begging for his life. Of course, he didn't miss at that time but now Ahsoka was moving around and the demon was in his line of sight. He knew he wasn't going to get another hit on her easily ]
Apparently.
[The blood from the bite on his hand was making it difficult for him to keep a firm tight on the blaster. He figured he didn't need a direct hit, while the demon was focused on her he could at least make things difficult for her in return.
He wasn't aiming anywhere in particular, just in her general direction, as he fired a few more shots. If she was focused on the demon, now she would have to also divide her attention to avoid the blaster shots. Might give the demon the opportunity it needed.]

You know, I can see why you sympathize with the Empire. [ it's directed at hux, as is the sharp shard of ice the demon had just aimed at her, redirected the human's way with a flick of her hand as she changes the grip on one of her lightsabers. ] You shoot like a stormtrooper!

He didn't have time to respond as he saw the glint of the crystal coming his way. There was really no time to mitigate the damage and it sliced across his cheek, leaving a thin red line that started to well up with blood. It hurt but he couldn't afford to take his eyes off of her.
"I'm not trained to execute Jedi war criminals," he admitted with a smug sneer. If she got angry enough, perhaps that meant he would have a better chance. "The Emperor put the rest of the Jedi down like rabid animals before they could destroy the galaxy."
He raised his blaster once more but didn't fire, watching how she attacked the demon. Even Jedi had to have a particular fighting pattern, he just had to try to learn it.

"And yet, there's still Jedi!"
Another flick of her hand, another of the demon's attacks deflected around it and aiming for Hux's chest this time. She wasn't sure how long she'd be able to keep them both engaged, but she was waiting for a chance to deal with them both at once. It would come to her if she was patient, she knew.

He would enjoy taunting her with that for awhile. Eventually, the truth of the Hosnian System would come out but he would take his time to enjoy that when it came time.
"Did you know that the Emperor would send bits of Alderaan as a reminder to others what the price of treason was," he laughed before suddenly one of the demon's attacks was coming right at him. There wasn't enough time to completely get out of the way, it still hit him right on the side as he dodged. It knocked him to the ground but he managed to keep a hold on his blaster.
He quickly shook his head, forcing himself to sit up despite the pain. Teeth gritted, he fired off a couple of shots when it seemed like Ahsoka was focused on the demon. He aimed lower, for her knees instead where he thought she wouldn't be blocking. If he could take her down, it would work to his advantage.
i have no idea how this sat so long i'm sorry i love you????
"And do you know how many Inquisitors I've killed so far?" It wasn't like her, to brag about having caused death. She didn't like it under any circumstance, but the demon was getting under her skin and Hux was exactly the sort of bastard who would always be worse than her, no matter the blood on her hands.
"You must not or you'd have given up by now," she continued, slashing her mainhand saber hard to direct one of the demon's ice attacks back toward it and earning a screech of pain from the creature. "I'm not even the last Jedi; you know nothing!"
I LOVE YOU <3
He watched her carefully, momentarily distracted by the demon. But he saw how she only balanced on her injured leg. At least he had got in that hit but the demon was still between them. He knew he had no hope of beating her in combat, he had been fortunate to get one hit in but that didn't mean he couldn't do more damage. He waited until the demon attacked again before aiming a careful shot right at her injured leg, hoping to throw her off balance.
♥♥♥
The demon attacked again and Ahsoka deflected two long shards of ice in a row at Hux - the first to his head, the second to his chest - while she closed the distance between her and the inhuman monster so intent on drowning her in the darkest thoughts in her mind. Two quick slices later and the demon was without arms. With a third, she lost her head, Ahsoka flicking her fingers to send it flying with the Force back to land in Hux's lap.
As the demon's dismembered body dropped to the ground, twitching, she settled into a defensive pose again, so distanced from her body that she was no longer visibly favouring her injured leg. It would hurt later, undoubtedly, but for now, the man so intent on shooting her had all her attention.

The demon slammed into him hard, making him gasp. Thankfully the demon wasn't heavy and once he caught his breath he started to shove it off of him. He shook his head as he pulled himself to his feet, blood dripping down his cheek, running down his neck.
He brushed off his greatcoat as he looked at her, blaster in hand. "Your leg must hurt," he remarked calmly despite the fact that he knew that she could still strike him down. "So is this when you kill me then?"
no subject
But there would be no point. Hope would bring him back. It wouldn't do anything but put unnecessary blood on her hands and take this monster out of commission for a few days. And Ahsoka liked to think she better than petty murder. He wasn't a real threat, despite what the pain in her leg told her. Because he wasn't, at the end of the day. He'd be no match for her in a fight to the death.
"No," she said evenly, eventually. "I have better things to do."
So she wasn't going to kill him. Instead, she thumbed her shoto off and let her fingers flex around the hilt as she raised her hand to gesture, using the invisible hand of the Force to grab him roughly by the neck and throw him into the nearest hard, uneven cave wall. It wasn't a gentle toss, but hard enough to knock him out, hard enough to hurt.
She was a better person than a petty murderer, but that didn't necessarily mean she was a perfect one.
