In the Kingdom of the Blind...
Who: Whistler and Prussia
What: Prussia does his civic duty and helps a blind man find his way around
Where: Around the city
When: May 16th
Warnings: None. Will change if needed.
While Whistler managed to get away with barricading himself in his apartment for the first few days in order to hunker down and begin work on transforming the apartment into a blind man's fortress, it is becoming more and more apparent that he is in need of basic amenities such as food as well as more supplies to really make his new 'home' blind-man accessible. Or at least Whistler-accessible.
This requires him to leave the safety of the residences and journey outside. At the outset this does not prove too much of a problem. In fact Whistler is even encouraged by the ease with which he navigates the stairs, making sure to not only feel over his apartment number several times before leaving but also to count the number of stairs so he can remember exactly where he needs to go when he gets back.

So far so good. Even the front door proves only a small obstacle, the only difficulty being the location of the latch.
However once he is outside, the game has changed. Now out in the open, or the relative open considering this place is actually underground, Whistler is suddenly devoid of any major reference points to navigate towards or away from. And thus he embarks into a void, hearing only his footsteps and the little rattling click of the cane Maketh had been kind enough to get for him. He swings it in deliberate arcs ahead of himself, shifting course accordingly whenever it strikes something.

When he notices that the newbie is swinging a cane around as he walks, he pauses for a moment as it clicks in. Blind. Yikes, what a person for the Door to bring in. Only more fuel to add to his growing anger against the Door and the gods here.
Prussia doesn't want to startle the man, but he doesn't realize that the rattle of his sword would give away his presence before his voice or footsteps would.
"Hey, can I help ya find something? This place can seem pretty big to newbies."

Whistler slows, unsure if he is being approached or if someone is passing until he is spoken to.
Newbie. The corner of his mouth flicks up in light amusement at that. He lets the tip of the cane flitter over the dirt in Prussia's direction until it touches the man's shoe. Ah. There he is.
"Things like "big" or "small" don't make all that much of an impression on me." Whistler will figure that Prussia's put two and two together that he's blind by now. And if he hadn't, well, it would just be an opportunity for him to have some fun.
"I am trying to locate food."

There's one problem with that, though.
"...I can show ya around, at least to where the store is. If you ended up in the caves, it'd be pretty bad news. C'mon."
He starts to lead the way as he talks.
"There's an orchard where there's some stuff growing, and there's also some food in the shops that the gods stock. But don't get your hopes up, cuz there's not much and it goes fast. If you like snacks, you're in luck at least."

At the description of what food is available, Whistler grins. "Snacks are perfect." He's rarely found without bags of chips or bottles of juice or soda anyway. "And besides, I don't think I'm going to be much good at harvesting. So I think it'd be best if we aim for the store."
sorry for the delay
"They get in all kinds of stuff, old 'n new, some snacks I've never even heard of. I think they must get them from all over people's different universes or something. Oh, and if you're looking for booze, there's good news there. It's in the opposite direction we're going, but Delight's bar that's pretty well stocked." The grin he has when he says this suggests he's a big fan.
