Regardless, he finds that Adam's reassurance still sparks a little warmth in his chest when he thinks about it- that Adam recognizes that Ronan will do anything to save him, even if that means hurting him. In a way, he realizes slowly, it's the same thing that Adam has done to him, the same thing that Adam is promising to do to him again.
It makes it better, framing it like that, eases some of the pain from what initially felt like a visceral betrayal. Ronan meets Adam's gaze with a tiny smile of his own, nodding at the promise.]
