"Sometimes. Some creatures feed off powers, or want to offer you more power in exchange for...whatever. Your lifespan, your loved ones, your sanity, whatever. So some people don't broadcast they can do anything extra."

Amos rolls another shrug. "Like I said, I have a really, really small talent, and I can only reach 'bout a half-mile or so. Plus, it's all mental, telepathic. So no-one notices when I use it, unless they're sensitive to such things. But I'm not big enough 'bait' to lure anything dangerous in, for the most part."
