It's that time again! Or, well, probably the very first time for you. It's not that often that you turn up in a different world - unless it is. You awaken on the ground of a large arena, a stone ceiling stretching high above you. Welcome to Hadriel! Don't worry, you weren't the only one who woke up here. So did a bunch of other people - and so did some monsters.
Yup, crawling around being incredibly gross are quite a few Jauchekafers, large beetles that feed off chemical and biological waste from humans. When upset or alarmed, they're perfectly happy to swarm and attack people, so hopefully you didn't wake up in the middle of them. Being about two and a half feet long, their bites can do quite a bit of damage, and that's not even counting the toxicity that might be passed on from their diet!
Speaking of their diet, those beetles aren't the only trash that's washed up in Hadriel this month. While making your escape from the arena, you might stumble over a interesting table or a possibly comfy chair, or even a piece of art. A lot of it's pretty cool, but you're not gonna find anything that isn't made out of trash. But hey, maybe that's your aesthetic?
Don't get too distracted by all this trash that has been turned into treasure. After you've find your way out of the colosseum there's plenty of other distractions! Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers September 10th-14th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

With his blindfold and comically giant weapon, the elf tips her head to the side as she watches him leap forward to save someone else, the woman scrambling off without another word. The people this place brings in.]
Bad luck, compadre. No good deed goes unpunished.
[Most of the beetles in their immediate vicinity are trashed, so the fire engulfing Lup's hands goes out when they move to rest at her hips. Huh. That was the easiest fight she's ever had to deal with in the coliseum.]
Sorry I'm late! (シ_ _)シ
Before his disappointment settled in too deeply another voice chimed off to the side and whirred around to spot its owner.
A human! Or a human of sorts. The pricked ears differentiated her somewhat but she was definitely alive (his senses told him that much).
With all of the eagerness of a schoolboy he trotted over to her with broad smile on his perfect, silicone lips.〉
Unpunished?
I did the wrong thing in saving her, maybe she knew those giant insects. They seemed pretty keen on her.

Thankfully, these beetles aren't nearly as menacing as the last two rounds of monster that had been brought in, so she can afford to spare a minute or two talking before they were swarmed again.]
Uh, I dunno, kid. [she points a finger at his weapon and shrugs] Maybe it was the giant sword. Some girls just can't appreciate an obnoxiously-sized weapon.

〈9S pulled the sword in possessively, as if shielding it from her insults. He was protective of his blade, he was one of the few scanner models of android who actually had a weapon.〉
My sword isn't obnoxiously-sized, it's perfectly sized.
〈It was only made all the more ridiculous by 9S's size. 160cm (with his boots) and slight of build.〉

Lup grins, making a show of eying his sword up and down before moving her eyes to the android instead, amusement shining in her expression at just how tiny he was.] Let's be real, seems a little big for you.
[It doesn't help that he looks like he's a child, so basically 9S is equating to be like five in Lup's mind.]

〈He objected, obstinately, probably appearing as immature as she thought he was now. If 9S had any sense, he would have used people's misconceptions of him to his advantage, but he didn't like being underestimated.〉
Besides, you saw me handling it, it's just right!

She holds out a hand and summons flames to her palm.] Well, ready to prove it, lil' dude?
Sorry I'm late! (シ_ _)シ
〈9S quipped back. The threat of more of those malicious insects took second place as he had to defend himself to this pointy-eared humanoid.
The fire was impressive, and 9S noted that he would have to enquire as to how that was summoned later - after they had disposed of these creepy-crawlies.
In combat, his size worked to his benefit. 9S moved at an unnatural speed, dodging and aerial cartwheeling out of the way of the furiously clicking bugs. He summoned that massive sword and wielded it as if it weighed nothing at all. Cutting with eerie precision, guided by the augmented display in his blindfold.〉

With her own immediate threat doused, the elf turns just in time to catch a surprisingly graceful move from the smaller figure, which has her mouth quirk into an amused look.] Alright, you got some good moves. [and it's by grace of the gods alone that she doesn't add 'for someone so small' to the end of that.]
