Good morning, and welcome to your first day in Hadriel. Feel free to acquaint yourself with the other travelers who are starting to wake up around you- or explore your surroundings for maximum survival odds!
You may notice that there are a few metal boxes lying on the dirt ground around you. At first these boxes seem innocuous, with no locks or mechanisms to keep them closed. However, any attempt at opening these them reveals that, not only is there absolutely nothing inside of them, but they just so happen to be a handy-dandy Scream-in-a-box from that stupid old Nickelodeon commercial. One peek and it echoes with a loud, bursting scream... though, anyone who tries to use this box to keep themselves awake will only succeed in pissing their neighbors off, because infomercials only exist to lie to you.
If you're concerned about something a little more sinister... well, you're right to be. Lurking in the shadowy corridors of the arena are Cacodemons, from the Doom game series. These nightmarish monsters travel around the area by floating a few feet off the ground. They are capable of firing plasma at you from their mouths, and their sharp teeth speak for themselves. While they're easy to shove back when they're not firing at you, they have a tendency to converge on a single target. You think you can handle one? How about five? Good luck... and try not to melt on your way out.
Once you've managed your daring escape from the colosseum, feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers March 10th-13th.
► Feel free to make your own logs, as well!
► All characters now arrive with phones that have network communication.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
city.
[While she didn't have that many set expectations for how this day would go, almost getting punched in the face by someone she just happened to be coming up upon was not part of the agenda. If such a thing could ever be on anyone's agenda, that is.
[Fortunately, Rey's quick reflexes pay off. She reels her upper half backwards, sufficiently evading Cibo's blow.]
Watch it! [she barks.]

Sorry— [ It looks like the area is clear for now. Maybe something she didn't previously notice. And lets out her tension with a heavy breath. ]
Do you know the best way out of here? [ Not a conversationalist, this one. ] To the megastructure, I mean. [ A gesture up to the ceiling. ]
no subject
No worries. [Just be glad that Rey has quick reflexes, or they would probably be having a much different conversation right now.
[Quick to the point, though. Good job:] Out of these caves, you mean? [She figures that's what Cibo means. She seems like she might be new. Is it that time already?] Not from here, no. Wouldn't recommend running into the tunnels, either. Unless you want to be something's dinner, that is.

[ Look, lady. Running onto dinner plates is practically her sole occupation in life. Hence the slightly scorched arm. ]
But there is a way up through those tunnels then?
no subject
If there is, no one's bothered to share with the class yet.
1/2
no subject
If there is, they probably wouldn't bother coming back to class at all.
[ Regardless, she's going to try. That's obvious with how she's scoping out the area now. ]
Which way?

[Rey could certainly tell Cibo to just go into the caves and see for herself, and be the one responsible for whatever happens to the woman when she ends up getting herself hurt/killed out there, too. Normally she wouldn't give a shit, but this whole "giving fucks" thing has certainly taken its toll on her.]
The only way out is the way we came in. And no one knows how it works yet. [One could try and go through the caves to see if topside is much better than here, but somehow Rey doubts it.]

Sounds like I'm sticking around for a while then.
[ It sounds pretty passive. Like a minor inconvenience. Because it is. This is totally normal. ]
no subject
[She shrugs.] It would seem that way, yes.
[It would be nice if she could say "it's not all that bad here", but it... actually sort of is that bad.]
In any case, would recommend getting to know the place before you decide to make any brash decisions.
